My favorite time of the year! We used to plow fields until the ground froze. Now it’s all no-till so plowing gardens an terraces is all I got to hope for!

Do surveyors smoke lots of weed?

Spoiler: TL;DR

So surveyors came out and flagged the four corners of the coop today. They were supposed to let me know what day they were coming out, they didn’t. I wanted to be there for reasons.

I had already done it myself by scaling off drawings, and dimensioning off trees on the topographic plans. I seem to have done it better than the surveyors. It appears that they flagged the structure on the wrong side of the reference line, it’s now blocking a future road. Two of my stakes were within 5” of their flags, the other two were 40’ from theirs. I’ve never had a surveyor fuck up like this, I expected to be a few inches off, not 20’.
The footprint is 20’ x 40’.

Tomorrow is going to be fun. :-/

I charged $200 to give the homeowner an idea of where the coop would be, the surveyors charged a grand. Apparently a two hundred foot tape measure and a 300’ string line is more accurate than these guys and their thousands of dollars of equipment.
