TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

That's what I went with. I have 4.88's and 35's. I think I may have been happier with the 4.56's.

Yessir! I already have accepted I get terrible mileage so might as well move that power curve and pep things up a bit! Probably will go with 4.10s

 

I've accepted mine as well since I installed a SC and a lead foot

Yeah I regeared my 2.7L that has 33s to 4.88s and the difference it made was substantial. Obviously apples and oranges, but I still think 4.10s would be livable on the hwy, but provide more torque throughout the power band. Definitely not cheap though as you mentioned..

Dang, that is a big load! How's your truck been running lately? Youre running the UCON right? seems like I remember not too long ago you were having issues with the truck throwing codes.

I have no illusions, my truck sees pavement and that’s it. Well and snow, and gravel. But you knows what I means.

 

It was throwing codes and since I have flipped the snorkel head backwards and replaced the MAF sensor it has been good. Still runs a little rich at cruising and have tossed the rich code so I got ahold of Gadget and he had Scott email me. Just need to set up a time to get with him. But will be elk hunting all next week and want to address the belt slip issue first. I a Fleetrunner all cut and ready to go on. But want to do the belt and the bypass valve adjust at the same time. And the oil and coupler need done. It just keeps going so I just need to do what i have parts for now. Lol but all in all, it runs great. Super smooth compared to the super rich TRD tune.

 

Just finished chopping my urd intake and making something useful out of it. Tired of it blocking my heat exchanger. And snuggling with it. Glad I did. The pad holding wore through. And all but all the way through my intake pipe.

Wait, what and where was this rubbing? The only place mine contacts the heat exchanger is a plastic trim of the filter.

 

Where you trim the metal near the headlight. It wore through the trim then into the pipe. 12 dollar turbo coupler was the repair. Wasn't about to have a hole rubbed in the heat exchanger too.

 

Huh. I didn’t have that problem for some reason.

 

You probably did it right.

 

What is the stock gear ratio in our trucks? 3:73?...I always forget...
