Since mounting E load Cooper ST Maxx's on my stock suspension OR, the ride has obviously become quite harsh. They have a relatively aggressive tread pattern, therefore when driving on the road you get that "driving on gravel" feel. Though I have noticed when going over uneven bumps on a road, or more than anything-speedbumps, there is little dampening resulting in a violent jerk most of the time.

What recommendations are there for a full suspension (front coils, UCA's, rear shocks, leaf springs) that offer 2-3" of light while making the ride feel more comfortable? To my understanding most aftermarket suspension setups make the ride even more stiff. Any way to go down the opposite road?

Even $5k of suspension won’t change E load tires.

Ditch the tires would be the best solution. Otherwise, you’ll be disappointed, with less money, and more time being less than enthused with your ride quality.

Could also be a tire pressure issue. You can try lowering the pressure a bit.

Mine were at 36 psi when installed and rock hard lowering them helped a little

Make sure they are closer to 30 psi, E loads are rough for sure. I run 34f/32r in my 285 e loads.
Definitely going to go to a C or D load on the next set when I go to 35s.

I actually have been running them at around 27psi and recently brought them up to 33psi because it felt so slow and now I can feel there is less rolling resistance and no real change in roughness. If I could do it over again I would definitely go with a C or D load. My girl hates riding in my truck because of the harsh ride! Lol

I had an icon stage 6 and E rated KO2s installed on Monday. My ride seems pretty soft so far. I drove some dirt roads around town and can drive them faster than before and it’s definitely smoother. The biggest thing I noticed so far are speed bumps. With my stock OR suspension I’d have to take them at about 20. Now, I can take them at 40!

Real testing starts this weekend as I’ll be heading up to Mt Hood to find some snow!
