So I have the JBL sound system in my car and as some of you may know, its Garbage.
Im upgrading the head unit to the Pioneer 7201 NEX
and am looking to upgrade all the speakers as well,
    does anyone have any reconditions?
I saw a threat of a complete "upgrade for 250$"
and but I know the JBL is wired a little bit differently and so I am interested if anyone has any knowledge on good ideas of a not incredibly expensive upgrade to these trash JBLs?
any help is appreciated, thank you!

I thought my JBL system sounds really good when you change the settings. Now the entune HU on the other hand really sucks. Just waiting to get the W8400NEX pioneer HU for mine.

I just came from a 2018 sti and a 2014 wrx and the JBL in the Tacoma is 100x better than bot of them. I dont think the entune is all that bad so far either. Dont understand the hate.

You’re probably the first person I’ve seen claim that the JBL system is garbage.

I think it all depends on how into sounds you are to be honest. im a sound guy so I find the JBL placed into the Tacomas embarrassing to the JBL company. I frankly cant believe they would put their name on it.

While I sort of like the sound of the JBL in my truck, I wouldn’t mind swapping out the front door speakers so I’m curious too. I would rather a regular aftermarket 6x9 in the front doors. It seems like it’s bass coming from the front doors and no vocals. Don’t really care for that.

totally, and it rattles badly when turned all the way up. and for being 2 ohms that blows my mind,
I wasn't aware they were 2 ohm until talking to a man a crutch field

Yeah it does rattle at times depending on the type of music I’m listening to. I like to turn it up loud and have vocals in the front and bass in the back. I’d like to keep the head unit and everything else but swap out the front door speakers. I know the JBL is wired differently so I’d have to take it to someone to swap that out. I’m not a fan of Entune either but the look of the factory head unit is awesome so I’m keeping that for sure. When I was younger I’d just rip it all out and replace it with all aftermarket but I’m done with all that these days

I’m all for upgrading the stereo! Will these wire up being it’s JBL? Plug and play?

I used to have the Jbl. I came from a sub set up so I was disappointed in bass at loud volume. Couldn't stand that it got quieter as I turned it up.

The best way to upgrade the Jbl is to replace everything, no shortcuts. The amp in the Jbl system is tuned to the stock speakers. It is a waste of money to put nice speakers in a system that has a preset eq.

Now I’m thinking about swapping it all out! You got me on Crutchfield looking at what to buy after I just said I’m done with that these days. :anonymous: I still have 2 JL 10s W0 in a box I got from taco tunes for my 2012 Sport and 2 amps. 1 class D amp for the subs and a 4 channel for the mids & highs and both are JL Audio amps. I just don’t have door speakers and tweeters. :spending:

Same here. I had an entire aftermarket system in my last Yota. Going from that to stock kinda sucks
