Saw that some time ago while looking for stereo upgrades. I told myself this go round I wouldn’t mess with the stereo and/or do any serious modifications like I have to past vehicles. This system seems to be what I’m looking for but it’s ‘in development’ still.

 

I just saw a thread the yesterday or the day before that someone installed this in their truck. I could be wrong.... but I would bet money on it I saw it.....
Edit..... it was the nonjbl system I saw.

I know I'm a little late to this party, but I didn't want to start a new thread after finding this one.

I had a '17 and did the "Audio upgrade for under $250". It sounded great! I also purchased a 4ch amp and an LC7i audio controller and the taco tunes harness. I never got around to installing everything and then had some issues with my truck and traded it for an '18 with the Premium Tech.

The JBL sound sucks compared to the small upgrades I did on my '17. Can I just swap out the JBL speakers for the Kicker speakers? Can I "upgrade" the JBL sub and amp? Can I do anything without replacing the Entune Head unit?

Or am I just better off selling the subaru tweeters, kicker speakers, ********* harness, etc?

 

I seriously thought my front speakers were blown for the lack of vocals coming from the front. I was curious as for my brand new truck sounding like that, but this confirmed me it's is working as intended.

 

I think the JBL system is a nice upgrade from stock, I guess it all comes down to what you want out of a system. I don't need ear bleeding volume and massive sub woofers from the 90's.

 

They are better than stock, but the Kicker (to me) sounded better than my JBL

 

My w8400nex installed. I did have the JBL system in mine. I had no issues with the JBL system and though it sounded great. I just wanted the wireless carplay so i upgraded. The headunit upgrade alone makes the JBL system sound much better imo.
