    UPDATE

While I can't say 100% I've resolved the issue, there are a few noticeable changes. My code reader told me the coolant readings were not correct and that I needed a new air/fuel sensor. Shop confirmed this so I installed a dealership thermostat and air/fuel sensor (forward O2 sensor) Sunday. Oddly enough, I no longer have axle wrap when I start in 1st gear and the throttle response seems to be smooth. Similar to when I swapped out the MAF I'm a little leery the computer is just relearning these new components and in two weeks I'll be replacing another sensor. Just wanted to provide feedback to the group. One more thing that I've always found horribly annoying is the ticking of the vap canister on the drivers side of the truck near the mirror. Anyway, virtually non existent with the new parts. Will update as time progresses, until then finger crossed.

What do you suggest to fix this issue further?

What you described in your message doesn't sound like the same issue, but I asked some questions in my response to clarify.

Update: Laggy throttle from idle to 2500k still exists randomly on cold damp mornings. Issue pops up less than half-dozen times a year, it's random and infrequent, therefore nearly impossible to diagnose further. I have 276k on my SR5 with the stock drivetrain and cat, 2nd 2.7L installed at 206k.

I’m pretty sure, for me, it’s a bit of moisture in the tank. My symptoms are identical to what you mentioned. If it happens more than a once a month I throw some water remover in the tank. Anecdotal but seems to work.
