Just moved to the Cleveland area from Warren, OH. I like long walks on the beach and Pabst Blue Ribbon

This is true, but that doesn't mean you can't walk on them.

Welcome! Good tires and weight in the back. If it's a pre-runner then you'll do better than the 5 lugs because tire size makes a big difference. Otherwise, trade/sell it and buy a 4X4. A good driver can do pretty well in a 4X2.

I did read about sandbags for the back. I don't think trading is an option anytime soon. I know some people out there who drive sedans that aren't 4x4 so I was hoping that I should be good.

Go easy on the brakes, use the trans to slow down when the roads are bad. Watch for black ice. Leave with plenty of time to get where you're going. I work 35 minutes from home, I regularly take an hour to an hour and 25 minutes depending on how bad the roads are. I would suggest getting some Nokian Rotiva A/T's. They were made by the Swedes specifically for snow and mud. I used them on my Crown Vic, and that car would walk anywhere with those tires on.

Stopping and starting will be your biggest problem, but give plenty of space and you'll be good.

Hey, does anyone have some experience with any of the Wilco Offroad hitchgate tire carriers?

All of this advice is key, along with take your time. Also, don't be a numpty 5-lug like me and keep putting off putting the sandbags in the bed. >.< (here's my post from January when I was lazy and didn't put my bags in in time: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ohio-wheelin-meet-up-thread.371898/page-671#post-16819057 )

Did you end up just fixing everything? Or did you armor up? :transformer:

When I drove a 4x2 F150 for a couple of winters, I had a buddy with a semi and put a couple of worn out semi truck tires, still on the wheels, in the bed.

Well, I didn't really mean Easton. Just the east side of C-bus in general.
