selling my shell today and getting my bed rack! gotta get that bad boy painted up and then get the tent on. super stoked.

 

well as soon as I posted that the doofus messaged me. "I thought it was black, my bad for wasting your time"

so shell is still not sold...

I'll probably just keep it at this point and store it at the house. just hate unloading the dang thing lol

yeah shells are expensive as crap. the shocks for this thing are like 30$ and idk how much the little chip in the corner would cost to fix. painting it is only like 300$, and I've got 150$ rhino tracks on it and it has a relay in it for interior light and the brake light to be wired up. people expect to buy one for like 300$ and that's just absurd...they're like 2300 new!

 

yup, but I don't get that. if I'm in the market for a shell and can have one painted and done for less than a grand I'm a happy camper.

2nd gen shells sell anywhere from 500 cheap to 900 i thought.

waiting for 3rd gen shells to get that cheap.

 

yeah I'm only asking 600 on cragislist/facebook.

sure mine has a chip in it and 30$ shocks that need replaced, but it also has 150$ roof tracks, it's reinforced, and has a relay installed for the brake light and interior light.

 

short bed, preferably quicksand, but i'm a realist and know that won't happen.

what do you mean reinforced?

 

the roof is reinforced to support more weight. I'm not completely sure what they do to it but when you look inside the shell there is a section that is "thicker" than standard and the shell is heavier too. trying to find out specifically for you what it means lol

 

yeah I've seen that too, but mine is a 100XR. all I know is the weight rating for it is only 165lbs without the reinforcement, and that I've seen other shells without the same "drop section" that mine has inside. mine has held WAY more than 165lbs lol
