@OVTune Are you still planning on releasing 04B13 and 04A71 dongleless tunes via flash manager today?

I was at 1.04 w/o TSB, so I'm interested to compare with TSB alone.

 

Mat will send you the 1.04r files to load after you do the TSB. (or someone here can email them to you). The batch of files will include a stock file that includes the TSB updates, and an 89 octane file and a 91 octane file for 1.04r.

If during the TSB update, something goes wrong, use PCMflash to write back whatever file you’re on now.

It would be nice to hit one out of the park with 1.05 with as few recalls, tweeks and complaints as possible.
I'm sure you have other fish to fry. I for one am happy and amazed with all the consistent attention you have given this problem we are experiencing with Gen III. We'd all be focked otherwise.

You give me hope that I won't have to bail on this truck and lose my shirt but rather enjoy it for many years to come like I did with my others.

 

Good to know. If I had know that info I would have done the TSB myself a while ago.

 

But I'm gonna tell ya..... It's gonna take a while to get this bad taste out of my mouth !
The Tacoma engineers really screwed the pooch on this one.
This one was NOT ready for prime time nor up to their usual standards...

My guess is they were trying to serve another "master" and things got out of whack trying to conform to others demands.

Hi guys. Been following along but didn’t see if this question has been answered or not. I got a 2018 TRD Sport AT. Bought it July 19 2018 and am at 4000 miles. Do you know if Toyota has already performed the TSB update at the factory to all new trucks being sold after the TSB was released? I’m prob going to ask when I go in for my 5000mile check up but curious if anyone knew already.

Not sure of my ECU #. I pre-ordered the handheld and am just going to prob wait on it to release. I’m on stock tune and do not experience any of the TSB issues. The trans just shifts like crap. Thanks!

 

TSB is going smooth this time. Ran the truck for 5 min prior to and have trickle charge connected

 

A little info on my TSB flashing:

1) did it first time first thing in morning. Didn’t work.

2) truck kept cranking, no start.

3) I have the tune with PCM flash, Matt said write stock tune.

4) stock tune kept failing but I tried over and over, eventually worked.

Truck ran fine and I was able to drive to work

5) just tried again. Ran truck for 10 mins, trickle charge, TSB successfully installed

 

Bought mine around the same time and it did not have the TSB applied. Only way to tell is to read your ECM's calibration ID which could be done with most regular code scanners.
