For anyone not in the Snapchat lair, or who hasn’t been keeping up, a couple months ago I got a $50 parking ticket for parking like a douche.

Thought it was BS so I went to court today to fight it. Cop didn’t show, so it got dismissed and I was thrilled.

Walk back out to my car to find a $25 parking ticket for forgetting to pay for parking before I went in. :bananadead:

Well good news is the parking tickets are getting smaller. When you go to court for this one you're going to come out to a 12.50 parking ticket.

If I felt like fighting this one I think it'd be an easy dismissal. "Well your honor I'm military and new to the area. I'm coming from Florida and I've never seen this type of parking garage before."

It was one of those where you enter your license plate and pay for time when you first arrive. Of course this didn't register until I was already in the courtroom.

Society has pretty much killed traditional trick or treating. As a kid I would go out for hours and dang near fill a pillow case. My parents would hand out several bags worth of candy.

Now with the risk of kidnapping/molestation being higher than ever...trunk or treats and safe area trick or treating is starting to rule the day.

Funny, I was just chatting with a friend about this. I am hearing from most that attendance was very low this year. We never get them but for those that normally do, they said it was off.

I hear ya. I just figured I wouldn’t get any because I live on a shitty road for it! When I have kids you better believe I’m taking them trick or treating.

I took my kids this year, but we followed them to every house and stood at the bottom of the drive way. There are so few trick or treaters in our area that most houses were giving full size candy bars and bags of candy. We went to probably 30 houses and filled a medium size Amazon box (14x8x8) when we got home.

Talk about a good haul! I remember thinking the houses that handed out full size bars were the best thing since sliced bread.

Before we moved to the country we lived in the city. We got so tired of 6' tall kids coming to the door with a dollar store mask not even on their face we stopped handing it out. Especially since they were not saying the magic words. They would just stand there.

So the first year up in the country we went all out. We were so excited. Had all the decorations up, and we dressed up and had our chairs out on the front stoop, like 90 lbs of candy. We were stoked.

Not a single trick-or-treater. We were like DUH! What were we thinking. They would have to be brought there by car. We knew there were kids nearby and just assumed that would be the case. After like 2 hours of nothing we closed up shop. I ate candy till it was stale, and that was after I brought most of it to work.

Of course, now we don't bother.
