I have a 2018 TRD Offload long bed access cab and am thinking of installing Bilstein 5100's all the way around with the fronts set on second notch .65. No lift in the rear.Does any one have this exact set up and if so how much does this actually lift the front and how is the ride.Any input would be greatly appreciatedIMG_4547.jpg

That should lift you .65” in the front. I don’t have 5100s but from what I’ve read the are digressive and will provide a firmer ride than the stock TRD OR Bilstein shocks.

I put 5100s in the front at 0.65 and 5160s in the rear and while it definitely feels more controlled it's WAY stiffer than I would prefer. I love the look as it's just below dead level front to rear but I really don't care for the damping of the 5100s around town. From what I have been able to find, the 5100s have more rebound damping and a lot more compression damping than stock. A lot of people will try to blame this on the spring preload but it's just a stiff shock for small impacts. The 5160s have more rebound damping and less compression damping than the 5100s and, as a result, seem to ride a little better. On the highway the digressive valving of both shocks relaxes a little and they ride reasonably well. I have no major complaints about the 5160s but part of me wishes I had gone progressive with the valving as I have bounced off the bumpstops harder than I would like a number of times offroad. From my experience, I have a hard time recommending the 5100s unless you just really want a cheap, safe way to pick the front up a little.

This picture is a little misleading as I probably have 150-200 lbs of crap in the bed but you can get an idea for the front height.

Thanks so much for the detailed response-I really like the way the stock suspension rides on the road wich is where most all of my driving is done-probably a sensible idea to just leave it stock
    Thanks Again

I’m with you. I really like the comfort of the stock TRD OR suspension and don’t want to screw it up with too stiff of an aftermarket shock. And why throw out a nearly new suspension if it’s capable of meeting your needs with a little modification. Have you looked at a set of top plate spacers? They can safely give you the lift you need without changing your ride at all. Don’t listen to all the spacer haters around here that like to over generalize. Most guys that are running 2-3” spring lifts usually have some sort of top plate spacer to compensate for Taco lean anyway.

To be clear I’m talking about 1” or less total lift. The spacers people tend to hate on are in the 2-3” lift range. Which can cause damage under aggressive driving without some additional bump stop modifications and possibly UCAs.

    Here is one example.

Thank you-that info gets me thinking in a different direction-I'm only looking at a 1'' lift on front, from what I've read so far a 1/2'' spacer will give me a 1'' lift

I have 5100's all the way round and have the front set at .65. I love the ride. The truck handles very well on the road. I have only done some light trails rides but no complaints from me. I would highly recommend going with this setup. It isn't a "true level" but it looks close enough for me and it'll due till I can get my 3' LT setup on there.

I see you drive a TRD Sport witch came with the Hitachi shocks witch I've read ride rough, the Bilstein 4600 shocks that come on the Offload ride real nice, that is the ride quality that I would like to maintain,so what I'm wondering is that you replacing your Hitachi shocks with the Bilstein 5100's probably improved your ride but I'm concerned that they may ride rougher than what I use to-very confusing
