I saw some rumors (as always) that Les Miles is a desired candidate for Maryland right now..

 

he was always a name that popped up for Neb too. Maryland is in a pretty decent place now as far as not being super bottom feeders, so it wouldn't be a terrible choice.

I mean... They beat Texas... Twice...

 

I don't know if he'd take it, if it's even a rumor with merit. He seems pretty stubborn in his opinions on where he'd want to coach, and seems to like his gigs he has now lol

 

Oh I'm sure. His name will always be out there when there is an opening. Not sure how tasty the grass is up in the NE anyways. Might not be his style.

 

lmao true that. the guy's a character, and he is a great coach. he'd be a good grab in most places I would think.

 

He enjoying going to Friday night high school games too much now. I think he enjoying the stress free life.

 

you're probably right. he sounds less stressed in his interviews and shows he does for sure.

 

I see him going to CFL to coach next. Seeing what eating grass made that dude say and do, I cant imagine what smoking it will produce!!!

 

I know this is an NFL article, but it's the same opinion I have when Alabama gets a "heisman candidate".

there's a reason MOST heisman candidates don't go on to win the national championship, because they're stars, but their team isn't.

 

So Alabama never deserves a Heisman as long as they are dominant? That's just non-sense.

The idea that a player has to be on the "winningest" team, which has come as of late (last 15 years or so) is ridiculous to me.

Tua is the Alabama exception so far for their heisman candidates. Their past ones (Henry, Ingram) weren't even the top RBs when they won, but because their team won...they won.

Heisman isn't a team award.

Not sensitive, just don't understand the concept. I think there can be MVP's on the best teams. Agreed, I don't think it should be a team award(based on team success) but also every Heisman (for the most part) always say that their Heisman is a team award and thank their team (mates) for the success.

 

Translation = 3 day ban?

But a guy with better stats that clearly was the only reason his team was ever mentioned, even if they have 3 or 4 losses should win it over a guy with lesser stats that went undefeated

 

There should be a Heisman (stats/success/etc based) and a MVP which like your link mention, the truly most valuable player to their respected team. Not to go back to that discussion, but I still don't see Bama winning all they did the years Ingram and Henry won theirs. Yes we had talent behind both that ended up being studs, but they weren't studs then when they were being Ingram/Henry.
