They allow the topper to be opened and the tent unfolded without crushing the topper frame. These also work great without a topper, $325.00 a pair. NOW Until 12/15/18 $300.00 a pair plus shipping.

I make these bars for people that want to have this setup. No tent or topper for sale. These can be ordered customized however you want.

    This setup seems very inefficient...

Not really considering you don't have to put your cover on your tent anymore. It actually speeds up the process. Plus your expensive tent isn't sitting in a parking lot for everyone to see or vandalize.

It’s actually great for people who want to use their RTT’s and not have them above the roofline but still want to have covered storage in the bed. A bedrack with an RTT won’t keep your gear out of the elements. Being able to keep everything under the Softopper allows you to keep your RTT low like many people want and also keep all of your gear covered from the elements

I like the idea, and only downside to your reasoning would be exposure while the RTT is deployed. But its all a matter of opinion anyway right?

    Two questions:

What's the clearance from bed floor to the bottom of the bars? ie clearance for cooler, bins, etc.
Can you post a pic of how the bars mount to the bed?

You’re right. But I at least have that coverage while I’m driving 6 hours to my camp spot or 10 hours along a trail and I can stay in my truck cab if absolutely necessary so that my gear will at least stay dry

I totally agree! I've thought about going this route or doing a RTT on rack with a Tonneau. I like the soft topper concept for more coverage and gear storage, plus overall its easier to configure these components and take them on and off rather than a hard shell.

Yeah for sure! I think KB Voodoo makes the Tonneau cover useable bed bars which is great for keeping your stuff dry down below your sleeping area

This is not my truck, these pics are the truck that I built the bars for. I have a set that should be in Ohio Monday. As they get shipped around more pics should start showing up.

The whole bed is completely open, no exposed hardware hanging down to scalp you. There is some taper near the edges but it's no wider than the fender.

They bolt into the bed rail. I drill the holes for your year. The tent and rails are above the bed. This took some trial and error fitting but this almost leaves the entire bed open except for where I had to make clearance for the topper frame. This put the tent and bars in the space that the topper creates. The only space you lose you won't notice.

If you want a set of bars on top of the angle, completely over the bed I can do that as well but you couldn't do a topper over it.

MobTown bed racks MobTown sliders and skid ARB onboard air
This is exactly the system I was looking for. But that was a year ago. I researched bed bars and found MobTown had what I needed. Then added a roll up tonneau that just passed under the bars. Had to remove the quik fist mounts for my shovel. Anyway here it is:CA37A4F9-006E-4484-843C-1F808B0C392C.jpg

There are a couple companies that make that type of setup. I was approached with a problem from a customer and made them a solution. I decided to sell them for others that want the same setup.

The bars bolt into the rail system. Above is the only shot I have that shows the bar above the bed. The angle sits on the bed rail. There is only enough drop to allow for the topper frame to fit when folded.
