I'm betting this was a senior citizen who should not have been driving.

I personally witnessed an old lady hit a bicyclist and continue into the grocery store parking lot oblivious to what she had just done.

When everyone gathered around her car she literally had no idea she had just flattened this dude's bike (cyclist was bruised and scuffed but otherwise OK)

 

Self driving vehicles aren’t entirely a bad thing.

 

Um, they're more lethal (total vehicles/total deaths) than human drivers.

 

A restructuring of the operators testing and renewal program for seniors is long overdue. Many families knowingly let their dangerous seniors drive because they don’t want to deal with having to drive them to appointments and to the market.

Or doctors that won’t intervene on behalf of public safety because they can keep their billable hours up by encouraging grandma to come in a couple times a week.

These are situations that I’ve personally seen, and I’m certain there are others.

 

At this time there are no automious self driving vehicles. Humans are still required to be in control. All accidents/deaths with the current technology still have human causality. Like the bicyclist stepping in front of a current technology vehicle while the driver was doing who know what. In the future, like 20 years, there will be reliable self driving vehicles which I will consider.

 

Sample size is too small...

Alec Baldwin arrested after allegedly punching someone during parking spot argument




Hot-headed actor Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday after allegedly punching someone in New York City's West Village neighborhood, Fox News has confirmed.

Police sources tell us the frequent "Saturday Night Live" host is currently in custody after getting into an argument over a parking spot. Charges against the actor are pending.

A rep for the actor did not immediately return Fox News' request for comment.

Baldwin, 60, lives in the downtown Manhattan neighborhood with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, 34, and their four children.
