That doesn't mean they are uncommon. Just that Tacomas aren't plentiful in junkyards. 1st gens are like 20 yrs old now but junk yards around here barely have them still.

4.30 is pretty common in the 3rd gen 4runners though...

And when they do arrice they go quickly. I showed up at Pick N pull a day or two after a Tacoma arrived and the bed was the only thing left. Literally everything else was gone.

I called Toyota/Nissan truck specific junkyards, the make heir living on parting out 4Runners, Tacomas, Pickups, and Tundras. All of em told me the same thing.

I am aware. I’m saying that in the front, they’re uncommon on Tacomas.

Oh yeah and I was talking about normal junkyards that specialize in Toyotas. At my local Pick Your Part I have only ever seen 2-3 first gens, all 5 lugs, & never 01-04. They get completely stripped in only a few days.

Still doesn't mean anything. Generally they're just familiar with what is available in the wreckers market. I've worked in the junkyard business, very shady business btw.

Also 4x4s aren't that common here on the west coast.

    I can imagine.

I went to almost all the Pick-n-Pulls in the whole state of California, and one of the ones I’ve been to actually had workers scrapping all the wiring harnesses for the copper while it was still in the yard. As in they go in with power shears and sawzalls. I’ve never seen that before.

Usually it all gets shredded up and refined on a conveyor.

Price of copper keeps going up. Of all the metals I buy to keep on hand, copper & brass is what I buy the least & only buy when I need them. Heck I have way more titanium than copper in my stash.

Around here all the tweakers used to steal all the wiring out of construction sites. Workers would come in to find the wiring they just installed all stolen from buildings & homes. Now every constuction site has overnight security.

Some tweaker stole the wiring that powered the street lights on the bridge into my neighborhood. Didn’t get fixed for weeks.

Replaced the supercharger bypass o-rings. Not sure if they were ever replaced (probably not). These joints become vacuum leaks ones the o ring degrades. I replaced both orings and installed them with the grey permatex (red arrows) to make sure the seal properly. Also added grey permatex to seal the connection where the 4 bolts go (yellow arrow). There wasn’t really any sealant at the joint previously from what I can tell. It was hard to get off though after the bolts were removed so not sure what was sealing it. Cleaned and inspected the bypass valve. Everything looked good. Now time to wait for the permatex to cure. Is it necessary to wait the full 24 hrs? It’s only seeing intake air and not holding in any fluids. Just curious.

Also noticed the plastic top of the radiator is leaking slightly. This design sucks. I replaced the radiator a few years ago because it was leaking and now it’s leaking again. Plan on replacing with the aluminum Champion radiator in the near future.
