Just got a good break in the rain to get some winterizer/ weed and feed down. Grass is nice and wet and the rest of the rain today should help water it in

Shrug. I grew up when they were a dominant team, when it was either root for Dallas ( :puke: ) or Green Bay. Or somebody else, who sucked. Which at that time was the Patriots  I've always rooted for the Pats because they're the 'local' team, but GB was always the 2nd team.

With a name like SyracuseTaco I'm sure you will be, since you're that close to Bills Country

It's too bad the Pats are so banged up, though. Going to be an uphill climb against a relatively healthy GB team. Looks like Gronk may be a scratch for this Sunday.

When i was old enough to follow football, it was still the Boston Patriots and Jim Plunkett was QB. Then it was Grogan.
For the most part, they sucked back then, but that was my favorite team.
I went to one game at the old Schaefer Stadium. Pats were losing to the Jets, and things got a bit sporty in there.:crapstorm:

First year I remember watching the Pats with my dad they finished 1-15; I think it was 1990 or 1991. They sucked pretty bad until the '96 season, then they improved enough to start breaking our hearts in the divisionals every other year or so.

Edit- After the 2000 season they got a lot easier to watch

I always thought Grogan was one of the most exciting QB's to watch back then. Neck brace and all, still scrambled.

I only really saw him play one season, but at that point I think he scrambled mostly because he just couldn't throw any more.

You want bad? Dec 27th 1992...Dolphins @ Patriots...Old foxboro aluminum bleachers stadium seats...last row of the 300's...Game temperature was 21F and a strong biting wind...THIS WAS COLD...to top it off Marino got knocked out of the game at some point...game couldn't end in regulation, it has to go to OT because it was sooo cold...and then the Pats continue their 10 year losing streak to marino and lose in OT 16-13...

@Skierrichy is that fire currently burning? All my firewood is wet... sorta jealous.

Football.... I'm definitely the odd person out here.
Only football game I sat through, start to finish, was the Saints superbowl. Because my wife's family is from Metairie/New Orleans. Doesnt do anything for me.
I dont think there is any pro sport i get "excited" about. We will GO to hockey games, but, could never watch on TV.

Anyway, been a long week, and I am grateful to be sitting home, with NO LONG DRIVES tomorrow(ended up in New Bedford today).

    ANYWAY, ITS FRIDAY

Hmmm, I'm not sure about the TC lockup thing. It was a big deal when I dabbled in the diesel scene. If the TC locks before all of the shifts are complete, things tend to break due to the shock of the shifts on shafts that weren't designed to take them. I broke a tranny that way....

    I'm overly heated right now.

Since the Vette is an absolute PITA to get up on jack stands and is so low, I just use the dealer to get oil changes done. After giving up on one local dealer I switched to another. Last year when they changed the oil at the end of the season they overfilled a bit. It wasn't enough according to the gurus online as there was no foaming on the dipstick and Chevy recommends adding extra oil if you're tracking the car. However, it always bothered me, so I decided to pay extra attention to it this year.

I get the car back and the lot porter is actually cleaning it off complaining to me that there's a bunch of greasy handprints on it. I get into it and drive out of the garage and my TPMS immediately goes off. The tech filled my tires to 61 psi!? I drove about 300 feet to confirm the readings were real, stopped, checked my oil which was overfilled (naturally) and went back in. They don't really even apologize but take it back in. I wait another 45 minutes and get it back. It had started to rain a bit so I wait until I get home and check the oil level again and it's still showing high. I thought maybe I was crazy so I let it sit for a bit so I could get a better reading and yeah, definitely still high. It's probably within the realm of okay given the tolerances of the car and the whole "add 1 quart to go racing" thing, but still, when I specifically bring it back because it's overfilled, fix it!

I'm 90% sure I saw the tech too and he just gave me the side-eye when I dropped it off and as I was leaving.

You're not wrong, I just hate doing oil changes. I'll have to build ramps to get the car high enough to get a jack under it to get it up on stands. That Race Ramp pit stop kit is pretty nice, but it's super pricey.

It's very easy to jack a Vette too, wood blocks staggered till you can get a jack under it.
