Yeah looks like a high school party spot too. Couple more old pics. Most of these are 1910’s and 1920’s.

This one is marked 1904. You can see Verdi Peak in the background.

Those aspens had leaves just last week

 

I’ve been up there. Can you drive in? I’ve only hiked in.

 

Last time I went there was earlier this year and there was a barrier I think put up by the railroad, that or the irrigation company, this was the access from the Verdi side I went around it on my motorcycle... Im pretty sure you can get there going all the way over the top from Hunter lake but I haven't done it myself.

 

We went in from Garson and back out along the tracks. Both ways are open. The trail off HLT does have a cattle fence but you can open it.

There weren’t any trespassing signs. I kinda wonder what the deal is with BSA owning it but not maintaining it. It’s a bummer to see such a cool spot going to waste.

I was out in the White Pine Range. Definitely worth checking out

 

Pretty cool place for being in California.

 

I’ve been wanting to venture out into eastern NV more. Did you stop in Duckwater?

 

Yep. Been there quite a bit, super neat spot. This was the first time we took a FS road from there over to the east to hit the range. Nice little short cut and we didn’t see anyone the whole time we were in the area.

Sunday I go on a 300ish mile round trip to a guys cabin at Virginia Lakes in the Maverick.
Go up spend the night & come back a different way.
