Punctuation is part of grammar, my learned friend. And the commas are where they need to be for a poorly constructed sentence. Though latitude is given as he was dealing with a knucklehead.

Ok, Don. I'm sure you can find just as many sources that say punctuation is separate from grammar. You're more than welcome to overuse commas. It's a free country...mostly.

 

Thank you, very little. I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong. I understand that in the traditional definition grammar is the set of rules or laws that govern a language and punctuation does not come under the same umbrella. But in order to have flawless grammar it is imperative to include punctuation. Answer this, then. Does grammar fall underneath the umbrella of English? Does punctuation fall under the umbrella of English? Oh, and I'm an abuser of the Oxford comma. Just my three cents.
