My last base put up a speaker system that played a mix of avian distress calls and predator sounds. There wasn’t so much as a sparrow near the flight line. Meanwhile, a mile away at the HEB, there’s a quarter-million bird flock of Mexican grackles.

So...if you go shopping at Marbach and 410 in San Antonio, be careful you don’t get shit on.
