If you could get a roll bar/light bar for free would you add it to your mod list?

That's what I'm thinking. Needs painted and probably needs new hardware, but it's free minus the drive to get it. I'll lose use of my tonneau cover, but hell, it was free too!

I have to make sure it would fit. It's from an 87 Toyota 4x4.

My thoughts exactly. I wasn't sure if I wanted to give up some bed space, but the largest I have to haul is my riding mower. The bar wouldn't interfere with that.

    RIP Lucy.
    She's gone but not forgotten.
I voted no but only because I'd rather have a cage inside the cab. I watched a TV show a while back where a woman had rolled her car, her 3 year old was in the back seat. The roof caved in and crushed the kids' skull. Poor baby died. Scared the hell out of me thinking about my little one. She's almost old enough to drive herself now but I still want a semi-full cage, something that reinforces the A and B columns in a rollover. Those behind the cab ones won't help the front of the cab at all in a rollover, might even make things worse.

I know these offer no real roll-over protection. They are just beefy looking light bars. There are alot of things I'd rather have, but none of them are free. I don't think I would go out and buy a roll bar, but for free, I will most definately consider it.

I'd cut it up and make a custom front bull bar with integral winch...(just what I am looking for)...

BTW: My first Toyota ('87 single cab) I had double/single roll bar and kept my tonneau cover. My wife and I cut holes in the cover, then she sewed in rug binder on the edge which fit snuggly up against the bars. Best of both worlds!

Having had one, Do you think a roll bar for an 87 would fit in an 02?
