I got my truck in August and put 1.04 on after about 500 miles. I just flashed the TSB at ~4k. I had no idea how shitty it was to drive before the TSB. If you haven't done it yet, just bite the bullet and do it. I Live at about sea level, but the TSB makes the ride much smoother. I'm looking forward to seeing what 1.05 can do, or even 1.04r for that matter.

    The Most Important Answers
    1. You DO NOT need the latest TSB to load 1.05.
    2. Only OVTune knows when 1.05 for the AT will release.
    3. Only OVTune can send dongle-less files.
    4. Leave OVTune alone and let him work at his pace. He’ll let us know when it’s ready.
    5. If the answer to your question is not above, read the last 10 pages of this thread or use the search tool and select “search this thread only.”

    Edited to add 6
    6. If you do have the latest TSB and want the files for 1.04r, email OVT and be patient.

So you’re saying 1.04 was shitty and that B04 is better than it?

If you really want it, try another dealer and tell them it only happens at high altitude.

    Or do it yourself

Not to beat a dead horse, but is 1.04r for 04B04? If so, I take it 1.04 doesn't work on 04B04, so if one were to flash the latest TSB 1.04r is needed? Or am I misunderstanding? (I'm still 04B02 on 1.04, but was considering the TSB tomorrow if I finish my other projects and my impatience meets boredom.)

I'm saying 1.04 was a huge improvement over stock in driveability, the throttle response is incredible and 1.04 is excellent, definitely made me not regret buying the truck anymore. The shifting on the highway was still pretty harsh and all over the place on hills, I didn't think I needed the TSB. The TSB has made the shifting much smoother. I'm pretty sure I needed the TSB now that I have driven with it. My throttle response now sucks and I am looking forward to 1.05.

    1.04 is for B02/03 (and a few 18s I believe)

1.04r is for the TSB updated trucks

It saved my truck’s life. I think you’ve forgotten how bad the stock tune is - especially on the highway.

Having an MT with 1,3,6 would be a better experience compared to a stock AT.

you don't have a MT truck, right? OV changed every MT driver's life in the beginning just from the throttle control, not even about the power. if you had one of those MT trucks with the original factory tune then you'd completely understand. i almost sold mine before the Alpha tune came out because for an MT driver the truck was a very very difficult driving experience and worse with loads. it was absolutely that bad. can't speak for the AT's tho.
