Haven’t been out with the truck much, baby mod took priority. But did get the little guy out on his first trip a month ago, not even a month old and over the highest pass in the state.

This past weekend went out to cut some wood and found a wheel full of diff oil on the way back, seal on the other side of the one that went out in May gave up the ghost. Both seals now within 5k of each other. Luckily I bought two seals when I did the first so had one on hand. But, as something always has to go wrong, trying to get the parking brake cable out found that it was seized near the lca and rusted through, so get to replace that at some point, just put it back together without the parking brake for now.

The cable or the seal? Both were fucked.

Ah, oil, not great but it’s been worse. The pinion seal is taking a shit, going to need your assistance with that this winter.

Nah, just the usual dirty oil color.

So pinion seal doesn’t look too bad, is putting the nut back the same number of turns suffficient to get the bearing properly loaded?

I honestly have no clue. If you didn't order on, they don't come with them.

It is kinda a torque and feel thing. You don't want pinion preload jumping from where it was prior to removal. I mean you could get away with a couple inlbs but not much.
