Remember when

Found out the hard way on that.....
A friend and I found a big jar of change in his dad's closet. We took a bunch of quarters out and went to the general store. Coins were no longer in circulation or being printed. Was the early eighties. The general store had a video game machine, pac man I think. We each bought a soda and a candy bar. Then proceeded to put every last quarter into that machine. The owner called my friends dad (small community) and we both got our asses reamed for that. All the quarters were silver. I lived in Nevada and I would also come across actual silver dollars.

 

I remember that. I saved the all silver coins for awhile, but then they went out of circulation and I got lazy. Also remember rolling spare change in wrappers and taking to the bank. Now you just put them in a bag and then put into a machine that spits out a credit slip.

 

I remember when ....... My Granddad owned an Irish Pub in Hornell, NY called Downy's Tavern I was 14 then and on Thanksgiving Day he was open I walked in to see him and the place was packed full with the Jukebox playing loud....... my Granddad turned down the Music and Said "Hey everyone I want you to meet my grandson" Ok I was a little bit embarrassed then ..... But then he turned to me saying Very loud ..... "I got to Ask you Something" Have you Had your First Piece of Ass yet? yeah everybody laughed and oh shit Now I really could feel a Very Hot face then he gave me My First real drink ..

Yeah we got along real good because I learned his style of Humor and actually let him know that I liked it because I could understand where it was coming from where some did not like it because they thought he was being a Bully but that was not the case because everything was a poke at real life as it was just from his dry point of view 100 % Irish from a Man who had everything only to loose it and rebuild again after that so everything including himself was a target where questions were asked and how you reacted or responded was the funny part he never would put anyone down his questions or replies would catch people off guard. Like the time at the space center in Florida he walked up to a guy who was wearing a Space suit showing it off and knocked on the front of the guys helmet and asked him very loudly "how in the hell do you go Pee in that thing?" Grandma got upset and I was Rolling on the floor laughing.

Remember when Little Caesar's was Pizza Pizza and you got two square pizzas on one sheet of cardboard covered by paper?

Now- I remember that very well- used to work at Little Caesar’s in high school.

By the way- we did indeed make our own dough and sauce- daily!
