This particular one? (Don’t laugh) this was iPhone with some LR editing.

Normally a Nikon D750. Literally took delivery on a 20mm 1.8 this afternoon! Taking it to Grand Teton on Monday!

    Hey watch it!

There is a reason they assign a technical report writer to me when needed... In the mid 70's they made Engineering majors double up on English Classes so people knew what the hell we were saying, but in my case it was an Epic fail :anonymous: In my defense I am not the only one, I just make it work and fix it when someone breaks it. And someone will eventually break it :pout:

Technical manual writing is an area I’d have loved to try!

My reports were actually pretty basic. To the point, no fluff.

Oh I HAVE to like that one. Long story try to make it short. Retired Navy, hot plant turn over of a Gator Freighter to the Country of Brazil in the early 80's. Had to wear a lot of hats including Master at Arms. Got a call from the Brig at Norfolk at 0200 that 3 of our guys were being held because they were caught stealing hub caps at the O'club. Just got off watch as Officer of the Deck at Midnight and Engineering Officer of the watch all day. I was pissed and went into the MAA shack and looked for handcuffs because the lady that called me said they were rowdy and I should bring restraints.

Showed up and signed for them and had my "handcuffs" in my rear pocket. As I turned around to take custody of them I heard her say to the other guy at the desk I like this guy he doesn't mess around he brought leg irons. So that is why the chains were so long on those "handcuffs" LOL. I didn't waste time and slapped their ankles with them once I knew what they were. They do work... No report needed on my end ;)

I completely pictured that and the sweet epiphany brought about by the ladies comment, followed by a well adjusted plan of action to 'prove' you knew exactly what you were doing!:hattip:

    You did too?!?

Part of me wishes to know how the other outcome would have ended should he not have figured out shackles vs handcuffs and had an audience.

LOL I have no personal desire to know how it would turned out otherwise. Wasn't sure about the length of those cuffs and was sure I had seen 3 or 4 links on handcuffs. But they were the only ones I could find with keys. So bless that lady that clued me in.

Yes you do! One of my favorite memories is sitting on a Mountain top in the Olympic Mountains. Ole Flattop had just blown and you could look over the top of the cloud cover which was a white blanket, only the top of the Cascade mountains poked above it. One of these days will make it back and experience it again, nothing in the world like it. Also experienced it down in Timber Oregon hunting Roosevelt elk. But a different view from Mount St. Helens looking North.

The Olympics rule and the Cascades drool... :p

Leaves on the trees yet?! Thank you for posting that what a great picture! Lake Erie effect, the Great Lakes are just that, Great! You have posted more than one picture of it that makes my heart skip a beat. The Ex hated it, it extends through the Northern Tier of Pa. and Southern Tier of NY. No excuses for missing a bird due to the sun in your eye. Much like the PNW. Let it rain let it rain. The steelhead and salmon will run up the rivers once the water level rises. I have nothing against cloudy skies.

Looks damn good, nice detail from front to back. I was wrong, but I was going to guess that was a Nikon shot. I don't know why, but nearly every photo that really pleases my eye turns out to be shot on Nikon or Sony, and I can usually guess which is which.
I'm having a struggle right now trying to decide if I want to get a D750 or a Sony A7iii. If money was no object, it would be the Sony. They both suit my style, but the cost of the Sony glass is steering me towards the D750, which looks and sounds amazing as well....but it is 4 years old already, so does lack a few nice to have features.

Yeah, the forests were about all half green yet on Monday when the challenge was posted. I had to keep an eye on them pretty close, they changed overnight.

One of my customers told me he went pheasant hunting this past Sunday and got 129 birds.

Is that even legal? Isn’t there a limit? Or was it on a ‘preserve’?

If you can do it, go Sony. I have a good friend who had been a Nikon ambassador for years, just switched to Sony and loves it. He’s a Set Photographer. I’ll see if I can link you to his stuff.
EDIT: one link Nikon is about to release their mirrorless if you can wait it out.

I guess it was a preserve. He said that they were releasing them from some sort of tower.

A British tower shoot. That’s not hunting, that’s gathering.

I don't hunt pheasant, so I don't know anything about it.
