    Neither Gibson nor Epiphone. the spacing on the knobs is wrong, the bridge bolts indicate it's not a Gibson bridge and Explorers don't have bolt on necks.

    I doubt that's it.
    The headstock in the kit is explorer.
    The fretboard is either ebony or rosewood.
    The holes are already pre drilled for the tail piece and the bridge. With the correct distance between the 2.

    I built a Hamer scarab in woodshop class when I was a sophomore. The body I built from scratch and I used a pawn shop parts guitar for the neck, pickups and electronics.

    This looks to me like a woodshop class project being as the neck plate and the tail piece are way off spec.

    It was put together by a complete amateur.

    If you get a chance, I would like the measurement from the nut to the 12th fret.
    And the 12th fret to the bridge.

    To clarify: nut to bridge side of the 12th fret.
    And then from there to the middle of the bridge.
    Should be around 24.75?
    Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    I guess depends on what you like to play.
    Fenders are to tinny/trebly for me.
    Nice clean sound though.

    Oh man this gives me the pains. I sold mine three years ago to pay bills. It was a '98 model in natural finish with gold hardware. Sold the '71 Bassman and custom Avatar cab with greenbacks for the same reasons, too.

    Damn! Nice rig man, hate to hear you had to let go of it. You've got the memories (and photos) though. I'm currently using an avatar 2x12 myself with my EVH head. My Explorer is a '76 reissue and it's got an evil bridge pickup that I love.
