Those look like snakehead fish. They could eat everything else in your pond so you want to get rid of them.

That's was my guess. Snake heads in Wisconsin. I have to stop at DNR office on Monday.

After doing some more checking. It may be a dogfish. I going to try and catch another one

Dogfish have a small belly fin. Snakeheads have a long belly fin

You're in Wisconsin, if it's a Snakehead I wonder how it got there? I'm in southeast Pa and there is a fishery for them, they're using the Delaware river and surrounding/connecting estuary's to breed. I know aquarium hobbiest were releasing them once they out grew their tank.

The DNR did find a Snakehead in southern wi this year. They say that they don't think snakeheads can survive the winter.

Do not think it is a snakehead. Look at the dorsal fin. It is not along the whole dorsal side. It is small.

Not a yellow perch either because it does not have two dorsal fins.

I'll look at my fish ID books and I'll see

Not a muskie, no snout. And darters usually have two dorsal fins as well and different tail.

    Think it is a mudminnow!

Looking at some more snakehead minnow pictures I don't think it's a snakehead. Here's a pictures of a snakehead minnow. I think it's a mudminnow after seeing pictures of them.

I did read that the mudminnow burrows in mud. That would make sense as to how I caught it. Using pond rake to clean pond I probably pulled it out of the mud.
