Also, I believe gear ratio is only relevant to dyno hp.

The Maf conversion is not affected by gear ratio.

Hey I have the same controller that I’m wiring up!

1st where did you fit in, it’s actually massive!
2nd what wire did you use to trip the a/c, was it one of the wires to the clutch?
3rd what did you use to source acc power?

Edit: I think you have a thread on this. I’ll copy there.

Awesome! I’ve been perusing the electrical schematics to find something like that.

My E-fan is a Dorman unit from a mid-90’s Volvo. I think the one @Roostfactor has from the the Lincoln probably moves more air and is quieter. But mine works well enough.

The cool thing about e-fan setups is you can go as basic or as elaborate and fancy as you want with regards to speed controls, fans and shrouds.

Slapping the blower on my truck made it MORE reliable than it previously was.

The cars with E fans come that way from the manufacturer. They are designed direct from the manufacturer with longevity in mind using non made from China parts, and circuitry. (Usually)

When purchasing fan motors and other related items from Dorman, or TYC, etc. etc. You can immediately see the decline in use of quality material usage in comparison to the OE stuff. Yeah the stuff may fit like OE, but the quality is usually questionable at best as to how long it will last. It's a guessing game really.

The problem that concerns me about aftermarket setups is it can be and sometimes actually is made using inexpensive and inferior items which can compromise the integrity of an otherwise well thought out or quality system.

That's just the way I see it.

Are there any toyotas that you know of that came from the factory with an Efan? If i was to go the electric fan route, i would want to try and modify something OEM to fit in the truck...

I would love to do that myself honestly.

With that being said, I don't know if any Toyota truck or SUV that came with an electric fan from the factory. All of the ones I see are clutch driven.

I'll have to do some more research on this. Like you said though, i'd bet all of them are clutch driven. Would be sweet though if i was able to find one. Perhaps one from overseas.. Off to the search now :typing:

Please... Are you really trying to compare the reliability of a TRD SC vs an efan?

My point is if our blowers stop working there’s usually no damage. If an engine over heats than there is usually damage.

Or we could look to Lexus or scion models too.
