I meant dry as in not a lot of rain. Once you pass the Cascades it gets, for the most part, drier and drier.
Mostly farming and agriculture. Viticulture is big here and we keep increasing the AVAs. More and more vineyards and winery.

Most people picture the west side, Seattle, the islands, and the Olympics when referring to Washington State. That or the Hanford site (which is just north of Richland).

One of the many vague definitions is the Pacific Northwest actually refers to Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Regardless, it was a confusing TW name.

Although, I do most of my trail driving on the west side.

I’ll second Relentless. I’ve got a lower profile bumper. (Stingry). I’ve had good luck and no incidents so nothing to report.
But their service is great. I ordered online. Drove to Sparks/Reno and had them installed in the one day I was there.

I hit a Great Dane a while back that came flying and jumped in front of me from someones yard. Small thud and no damage.

That's that great 3M clear protectant shit Toyota installs on the fenders to prevent rock chips. It's coming off soon cause it looks like shit. Ought to be the shiniest part of the whole truck on each side when removed. lol

You are in some pretty decent pheasant country too. Wild pheasants. Over on the Olympic Peninsula they are State grown and released, theory is they can't survive the wet cold so are "State" assisted each year. Pa. does the same thing North of I-80 for the same reason. Had a friend that was from Walla Walla and spent some time there with him. Made the apple orchards I had known previously look like small lots. Although Cornell University in the Finger Lakes region of NY has the largest number of species of Apple trees anywhere. And a lot of vineyards in the area also. Had no idea that grapes were being grown in that area of Wa. now also. I need to get back out there it has been too long.

All of PA is stocked. Strictly put and take. They are tying a wild pheasant recovery area with no hunting, and restrict two units to roosters only. They also now have a pheasant stamp required to hunt them to pay for the stocking. With development and a change of farming practices, the wild pheasant went away in PA for the most part.

I've ridden that flight. and the LA to SYD twice. Air Bus is definitely more comfortable than the 747-400's.

Damn that went downhill. In the mid 80's you'd see a dozen roosters sitting in the cloverleaf interchanges around Lancaster area when I was on recruiting duty there. They were everywhere. Because they were planted in the North you could shoot hens but South of I-80 used to be roosters only. I know in the Northern Tier of Pa. grouse are disappearing fast also. Been almost 10 years since I have been back to hunt them used to take my youngest son for youth season. Lack of continuous habit cover for grouse from development is my theory. Although some are claiming West Nile Virus, loss of habit is the root cause IMO. Everywhere it seems like, edge to edge farming practice and major loss of CRP. Not sure it will ever be what it once was. Although grouse in Northern Mn. are still doing well with millions of acres of forest. Pheasants in the Agricultural Zone here not so much.

Habitat loss for both species. Grouse, the issue, in my opinion, is too many deer for too long, and not enough regeneration to support them. Then, when agencies try to cut trees to get new growth, stupid other organizations shut them down for other reasons.

Either way, I’d rather see work to improve the grouse, and let the pheasant just go. Their not native anyway.

Unfortunately she looks like she's leaking oil from the spot where the block is cracked. I re-jb welded it, but clearly that didn't hold if that's where it's coming from. :annoyed:
