Project is nearly complete!

I grabbed a piece of scrap aluminum trim coil and made a top for the box:


Cut an access hole and trimmed it with door edge guard to protect the lines:


Came up with a simple idea for running the air connection outside. I drilled a 1/2”hole through the bottom and connected a female hose adapter directly to the second manifold outlet:


Somehow I actually managed to get the thing back in place and all screwed down by myself.
I honestly thought I’d need a second hand considering how much @V5ioV and I wrestled with it the first time we installed it...


Door still needs a bit of tweaking but for now it’ll do.


Here’s the view of the bottom of the EE mount - it sits about 1” above the cut bedside and the air connection is now easily accessible from outside.


The compressor runs as expected and the rear air locker line is connected but leaking. I need to spring for some new lines - the ends of the old ones are pretty corroded.

The front one I may get away with just connecting a longer line to... the connection on the diff is not easily accessible with the skid still on:


Regardless of that, I’ve got functional OBA for the first time since like May and the rear locker will function if needed.

Lit up like a Reno Saturday night!


Tomorrow night I’ll pack everything up for a long weekend and my inaugural run with the Flippac.

 

Its usually the PIA projects the ones you have put together and take apart a bunch of times... ugh!!! But the bright side is that it gets easier and easier every time...

Very true. I was nervous about trying to get it back in myself. It actually wasn’t too bad.

 

I hate when what should be a simple project turns into a shitshow, cause due forces beyond my control it gets crazier than a cat eatin habaneros.

Once you remove the relays, pressure siwtch and fan from the compressor, and actually waterproof the two motor connections, the twin can actually handle all kinds of nasty shit.

Imported 34gal LRA fuel tank.

Theoretically will have a 500 mile range on a single tank...

 

The hover cam really lets you capture a lot of what you can't see from the top. Awesome shot Craig.

E-brake was loose and becoming ineffective. Two open ended 12mm wrenches and 3min later problem solved.

Got the missing hoses for the LRA in the mail today. Maybe get on that installation next weekend?

 

Just got all caught up on your build thread...Love the flippac and you really did a great job with the electrical!

I'm not sure if you tried this already to get that cubby door to close, but the next time you feel like taking it out, you can take off the compressor cover and rotate the compressor outlet a couple degrees and it might give you the clearance you need.

Took a few minutes to degrease the LRA Tank. I hate trying to install dirty parts.


Used some “purple lightning” 50/50 mix with water.
