My contract with T-Mobile is up soon and I know that I got crappy reception last time I was in SoCal, so I was looking at which service provider you all would recommend.

I have had no probs with my ATT, been with them 6 yrs now. The only spots that I notice drop calls/ no service is up in the mountains (Big Bear).

T-mobile was shocked when I called them and complained about the reception. The person on the phone stopped short of calling me a liar.

I've had Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile here in San Diego. T-Mobile was horrible!

Sprint and Verizon seem to have very similar networks here in SD. Never had any dropped calls on Verizon or Sprint.

Sprint's plans are much more affordable also.

    AT&T ;)

A lot of my friends had Verizon and switched over to AT&T, not necessarily because of service issues (it's a heavily populated area, all carriers are going to have good coverage), but because the Verizon customer service sucked, at least it did here in my area.

I've never had any service issues with AT&T. Anywhere. And I've been everywhere. ;)

    Stock. Purchased 2/17/19. Cement!
Had Verizon. Got ATT. I'm waiting for the day my contract is up! Going back to Verizon in a heart beat. Customer Service is still bad with ATT! Too many drop zones around the areas I travel much in San Diego. I just don't like them (again).

This funny because it is the exact opposite here where I am in San Diego.

oh by the way Verizon FTW.

I was thinking the same thing. My co-worker got the new iphone 4 because blog sites were saying it had better reception than the previous models but he says its worse. Not because of the whole antenna around the phone as he has a case, but all around he has dropped just as many f not more calls than with his 3gs.

I have Verizon on my work phone and Sprint for my personal and they are both great everywhere I go in San Diego. Verizon sometimes has more building penetration than Sprint, but unless you are in the center of a building on the 3rd basement parking level you will be fine.....even then Verzon will drop the call which I would expect.

For the price I think Sprint is hard to beat in SoCal and they are putting out great phones now with the Bold2, EVO 4G, and the Samsung Epik (Samsung Galaxy Variation with a keyboard and 4G). More minutes, true unlimited data, earlier evening times, and cost less.

Not to mention I prefer the ability to use my voice phone over wifi (Tmobile is the only one that does that) and internationally easier than verizon and be on a newer type of network.
