It's not rocket science. But I wanted to make sure, hence why I asked.

Or just run without a spare, like I do, cause it’s super smart.

Who is running steelies and Tundra brakes?

I can't find the thread, but I do remember certain Toyota steelies won't work. I believe the steelie below with the elongated hole is the one that will work?

Isn't it the other way around? IIRC correctly you need 01-04. I though the ones with the elongated holes are from older Tacomas and won't work?

I don't have steel wheels, I have 3rd Gen TRD OR wheels. But those are expensive to buy one off, so I'm opting for a Steelie.

I do have a factory spare, but it's a 225/75/R15. The reason I upgraded to the Turd gen wheels is to fit the Tundra brakes.

That's why I'm looking for a new spare.

WTF I thought all TRD prerunners & 4x4s came with 16" spares. Or is your truck not a TRD?

I do not have a TRD. According to the dealer TIS, I have an unknown 'Special Edition' package which came with 225/75R15 Firestone tires, 15" Alloy Wheels, Chrome fender flares, "Toyota Motorsports" 'B' Pillar Carbon Fiber badges, and tailgate badges. The 1998 PreRunner is the only truck I've ever seen come with that 'Special Edition' Toyota Motorsports Carbon Fiber emblem package. I checked with Camelback Toyota and those badges are indeed OEM.

When I look at Copart, only wrecked 1998 PreRunners have those Carbon Fiber badges which leads me to believe Toyota only offered them on 1998 PreRunners.

Wait your truck came from the factory with 265/65R15 tires? That's a very uncommon size. I thought all pre-2001 Tacomas came with either 31x10.5R15 or 225/75R15?

Sounds like one of those special dealer packages like the Enkei one.

Wow that really is special! Came with 16" tires on 15" alloys huh? o_O :p

And 265/75 with stock height? I never heard of Tacomas coming off a lot like that.

My mistake. I double checked the VIN sticker and the stock tire size is 225/75R15. I said 265/75R15 because that’s what Costco put on my truck before my current set of wheels and tires.

Don't know about pre 01 but my 01 TRD came with 265/70r16. I thought all TRDs came with that size, even 2nd gens & 3rd gens.

Right, I’m thinking of the TRD models. I’ve seen ones on Copart with that tire size if I’m remembering correctly.

I botched the details. Read my above reply.
