A few of us are probably going in the mountains this Saturday the 3rd also, there's another thread for that. What kind of radios are you guys using primarily? Mine are gmrs but I can pick something else up.

Just a note, as I got it wrong talking to Bert. GMRS radios that transmit at or below 2w do not need a license after 2017, if you are into such things. Mine is 8w. I mistakenly thought the revised Tx limit was 7w.

I've always been trying to move out here for the past several years. I had an opportunity to interview for a company that flew me out and was willing to pay for my move...plus, let's be honest, I had to get out of that sauna of a state.

Back from China and would love to meet up! 11/17 works for me so far as I can tell. I would love to do a few trails runs if possible.

When do we typically get snow on these trails. Christmas time?

    Just about any time now.

I have a pic somewhere of a few of us up there in November in snow with Urals.

Edit: This was November 11, 2013:

We turned around and headed back to I-90 at this point.

    Thanks!

It was a great rig, the drivetrain just sucked! There's a reason why Russia is so big but only has a 100million folks. Their tractors don't run.

The Taco replaced it. I miss the funky handling and riding everyday, but it is now becoming fun to wrench again. On mods, not to get to freaking work. :D

I was skiing (and rescuing stuck minivans) on Stampede Pass mid-October last year.
    The snow didn’t last though.

    Nice!

Is that a Drifter? Are you coming along on the 3rd or 17th? You know what the next question is going to be!

Stampede Pass/Naches and Greenwster keep being mentioned. Is that the only stock friendly option on the table, or are there other suggestions? I know some parts of Tahuya are stock friendly but I haven’t been.

There's also Liberty Washington off 97, places near Gold Bar off Highway 2 , the Moses Lake Sand Dunes, tahuya Off Road Park and lots of other places.

It's just a fairly large area to cover, closer to the west side. Tahuya might give you 5 miles total in the day, where I've done 80 in the stampede area. Definitely less challenge though.

Yeah it's a huge area that is close by and there are plenty of technical trails too.

I’m pretty sure it’s meant to be family friendly. Nothing too extreme. I have a feeling there might be so many people that anyone can sort of find a spot to fit in.

Yeah what he said, these type of things are typically family oriented, there was one occasion where I had to try to be pg13, think before i speak and not use 4 letter words, but is getting easier as I became a father myself.

Not to disuade you but Vancouver is a 2hr+ trek for you for this meet up. Just saying.

I know it’s far but thought it would kinda be fun and I haven’t seen anything closer to me unless I’ve missed a thread lol
