I want to share the latest mod on my Tacoma (My first thread :D). I decided to go with Katzkin as that is what the dealer would have gotten for me had I opted for the leather seat option. I will be doing the installation myself. I am hopeful that I will get it done this weekend. Just finished doing all the headrests. Hope you guys like them.

Spec: black leather with ice gray color perforated center. Red stitching with TRD logo.

Katzkin website says you have to use one of their authorised installers. You find a shop that didn't insist on installing it themselves?

Got one seat done. Took longer than I had expected with some
learnings along the way. The other seats should go much quicker.

Do those go over the existing seat material or do you have to remove the cloth before installing the Katzskin?

You have to remove the cloth cover.

Looks really nice! A couple of my buddy's have had Katzkin covers and I'm really impressed with the quality. One guy's covers are 3+ years old and still looked like new without many wrinkles; (probably better than if they were oem). I'd love to get some, but I think my wife's gonna make me wait until my originals looks pretty bad before I can drop that kind of cash...

Curious as to the comfort feeling post install, OP! Do the covers come with its own foam or just replacing the cloth with leather?

I did Katskinz on my 2003 Subaru WRX. Install took me about 10 hours total. Getting the leather to form with no wrinkles was my main concern I am so OCD wrinkles would have driven me nuts...

After doing it once... I would pay someone to do it who knows what they are doing lol.

Your install looks pretty good so far

Do a quick search. One guy in here is a vendor and will get you a good deal and you can install yourself.

I think they’re around $1200 through the TW member who sells them.

If you’re looking for an over the seat material cover with similar appearance, Clazzio’s are really popular and in the $5-600 range.

The seats definitely feel much more comfortable to sit on. They look and feel night and day different compared to the cloth. I should have done this sooner.

How would just switching the cover from cloth to leather make that much difference? Do Katskins have extra padding? I know Clazzio covers come with an extra 1/2” foam on the seat bottoms and backrest.
