Hmm, crap..... You just made me think of my current plan; hopefully getting the Hab installed on the 2nd, then taking a trailer load of stuff up to Idaho and dropping it off, but I forgot to account for the weight of the Hab in addition to the trailer.... uh oh, lol. Guess I'll see how it rides once everything is together, but I really hope I don't have to unload anything out of the trailer o_O

Honestly, the rear bumper and swing is truly just a "want" item, the front armor is a definite need; I've always wanted a winch, and I really want the protection for the truck in case of another animal strike. Or, at least the peace of mind front armor would give me, even if it's not completely bullet, or should I say "BULLet" proof, haha

Trailer is enclosed, neighbors use it to haul their side by side. About 7' wide, 17' long including the tongue, single axle. Miscellaneous stuff, rolltop desk, shopsmith, materials, etc. No idea how much weight I have on there, but I think I'm about maxed out due to how low it's riding; I don't wanna break their stuff. I wish I'd taken measurements before I started loading it

I'm sure the trailer will be fine, but I hope you aren't completely packing your Habitat too, or you will definitely be squatting really bad (assuming you have stock suspension). I'm very glad to have purchased a set of HD leaf springs. No more sag. Still need to be careful loading the trailer though, just cause the truck isn't sagging doesn't mean your tongue weight isn't too high. My overload springs on my stock suspension were already bent backwards before I got the Habitat :)

Yeah, sadly I had planned on throwing a bunch of hardwood and fatwood logs in the truck, but I may skip that just to be on the safe side. Tongue weight is probably a bit high because I was trying to make sure I had more weight in the front and over the axle than the rear. REALLY wish I had the funds to do something to the suspension, but the Hab is wiping me out. On the bright side, I'm confirmed for install on the 2nd at least, lol

I'm sure you know, but just drive a lil slower til you learn how it handles. And save some pennies for airbags or leaf springs :)

Yeah, my plan was just to go nice and slow, don't wanna wreck myself or their trailer, lol. That's why I decided to wait til after the Hab install, and not make this trip before the install like I had originally planned. It's over 13 hours one way, so at least if I have the Hab I can relax in the knowledge that I can stop anywhere along the way and sleep. I am simply incapable of driving if I get tired, I WILL fall asleep and wreck, guaranteed.

That's a high clearance bumper, no? That is a beefy swing out! Who makes that particular setup?

I am DEFINITELY gonna make a bug net and waterproof "curtain" to go all the way around the Hab where it makes the awning. Gah, so freakin' excited to get it installed and start customizing!!!!

beefy yes, works for me. unfortunately the company had a rather dramatic implosion this past summer and no longer exists, so pardon if i don't mention the name. there are other companies out there for high clearance and swing gates.

I'm in love with the Brute Force Fab high clearance rear. Can't wait to have the money for it.

Yeah, I'm the same way. I've fallen asleep once at the wheel, rumble strip saved me. Luckily I'm usually with someone on long trips, so can swap drivers as needed. It can get scary blasting music, AC on, windows down, biting your tongue, etc etc.

Yeah, I rolled my mom's camry when I was in HS, and I've almost gone off the road once or twice since. Even driving through Canada in the winter with the window rolled down, loud music, biting my tongue, getting out and doing sprints, jumping jacks, rubbing snow on my face... 10 minutes later and I'm dozing again lol. And I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've done long trips with someone else, let alone someone that could drive my rig. I guess that's an advantage of the AT vs the MT, assuming OVTune can fix this thing and I keep it, haha.

@MacFly , Make sure you remember to get some before and after pics when you take in your truck.

And if Juniper gives you an awesome loaner like Equipt gave us, we want pics of that, too!

Will do! Dang, they gave you a loaner? Pretty sure Juniper said something like 5 hours for install, so I was just gonna hang out and read a book or something, lol

We dropped off the truck before they were technically even open. They came out in the parking lot before I got outta the truck and said they had it on a forklift waiting for my truck. Gave me the keys to their truck and said to go find some breakfast and they'd call me soon as it was done. Had just enough time to eat a nice sit-down breakfast, take a walk around a random park, and then the phone rang, ready for pickup. Mine didn't have any electrical to hook up though. Just the taillight.

I also have an Exped Megamat Duo for tent car camping. It is so comfortable and given the size, thickness, and comfort takes up surprisingly little room when packed. I use a 12v coleman pump to speed up inflation.

Well, it didn't go easy, but I'm officially part of the club! Just got home, but due to the combination of the &%!$ way this AT drives and all the MORONS on the road, I'm pretty frazzled. Gonna have a drink and hit the sack, I'll post some pics tomorrow
