Did anyone have balancing issues or were a lot of weights needed for any tires in their sets?

Not yet. I’m in Florida (super flat), and didn’t feel the need with the 285s... we’ll see with stepping up to E rated 295s... just driving it around town back from the shop, it felt identical to the P rated 285s I’m coming from...

They didn’t mention any issues with balancing and I have 8.5” rims. Tires felt smooth and balanced when driving home. I’ll go for a long drive tomorrow and report back

I’ve had duractracs that had to be rebalanced a couple times. And some have needed a lot of weights to get correct. And yes they hum. Just have to turn the tunes up!:headbang:

The installer made it a point to tell me they used a lot of weights to balance one of them and he put it on the rear to help.

Also what do shops charge to balance tires only?

You already paid so you should be able to go back to them for free until they get it right

Well he said to see how they run and he did think it was a lot of weights to use. Everything seems to run ok other than road noise. How would I know they are out of balance? And I get mixed answers on what’s acceptable in terms of how much weight is needed

In general how has everyones driving experiences been with these tires on stock suspension? I just dont want to deal with a wobbling steering wheel and a vibrating ride. Thanks

The only thing I noticed was more noise. And a little more gritty feeling... but nothing bad at all. Sounds like getting them balanced can just be somewhat of a challenge

I had balancing issues initially when installed. Got them road forced balanced and a proper alignment, truck drives great. I think there might be very slight rubbing going on at full lock while reversing...

What kind of truck you got? I feel like if anyone does get issues with rubbing it’s minor and harmless with this size

16 Tacoma, running 265/75/16 Load C. Also, after the road force balance and alignment, it was noticed that the truck still has some extremely slight play in the steering wheel. The shop that did the balance said it was a characteristic of the tire and its sidewall design. I honestly will be looking into Nitto's for the next set or something comparable. I would like to the truck to drive like 100% oem for my pops.

Or just get oem tires! I am gettin a slight wobbly sounding hum but I feel like it’s the nature of the beast with this rubber.
