Mine lasted a month just because I’m lazy. They are annoying on a stock height truck for sure.

They do offer some degree of rocker protection though...

I had the OEM steps on my 05 the 13 years I had it, resulted in zero door dings. I'm tall enough to step over them. Worth having on in my opinion.

+1 for door dings. Saw blue paint on my step the other day. I just smiled.

This is why I like mine, they sit low enough to be useful. They also sit out far enough to protect me from parking lot idiots and their doors.

Door ding protector and you can stand on them for washing and polishing the roof.
    Mine are staying.
I am used to them, so it doesn’t bother me.

Unless there stainless steel, they won't stand a chance with all the salt they used here. Saw a set on another Truck not too long ago & the only thing holding them together was the "Chrome".

Sold them as almost like new 1st week off the lot and bought sliders built by @Shmellmopwho, couldn’t be happier. He’s in Lomita (Long Beach area) if anyone is in So Cal and wants to buy local. Great guy, too, and does other work like CMC,s etc.

Somehow on my old truck that had the same bars, I got a couple door dings. Jerks on lifts I guess...

Yup. I thought they would be better than the sliders I have..... Not really.

Didn't realize they were non-skid, and forgot about them while test driving. Got out of the truck and let the back of my leg slide down the edge. A month and a half later there's still a slight gouge on the leg.

Get the BAMF bolt on sliders. Not only will they actually protect your ride from obstacles, but they work as steps too. Bolt to the frame

My sliders serve a purpose, but they are also in the way getting in/out of the truck. Small price to pay for protection.

I use mine to get in and out of my truck like getting on a horse. Left leg on the bar, put right leg in, lift and angle in. You can see where I put my left foot on the dusty bar in the photo above. This will save my upholstery (and covers) too, as Im not sliding my butt across the seat as much getting in and out of the truck.

I use my boards everytime I get in and out. Left foot on the board then right foot in the truck and sit. It saves my seat cushion from being messed up over time. Most Tacoma's that don't have boards have a destroyed left side seat cushion from owners sliding their a$$ in and out of the truck.
