That's idiotic. If the Tacoma were to hypothetically lose sales to the Ranger (which I highly doubt), then Toyota would likely make the Tacoma better - not bring over the ugly Hilux with no brand appeal.

Just a gen2 TRD shift knob so far. Anxiously awaiting ovTune 1.05 with handheld tuner!
New nose clip and maybe tail lights.
Interior, trim body matching at best.

Otherwise, lifting the Pro would be no cheap effort and prices are already maxed for a mid-sized. Colours maybe, the the flat green mentioned above and maybe a splashy sticker.

I see these all the time in the area I live in. Purple, pink, orange, etc.

I heard that they will move the cab mount back to accommodate 35s from factory. :sawzall:

It will be a cobranded platform, between Toyota and Honda based on the Ridgeline. Toyota will have done their market research and realized that millennial men's balls are not dropping these days and the boomers are getting to frail to climb inside the current Tacoma.

Actually agree with you on this, and the merge of Hilux with Tacoma might be a better truck all around.

Toyota has never had a problem selling pickups, even when the ranger was around.

Really? I thought Ford was the best selling small truck for many years and beat Tacoma in sales?

Which was probably the case, I don’t have the figures in front of me. But market “super domination!” Doesn’t mean the Toyota pickup hasn’t had/doesn’t still have a steady base. It’s always been there, and they’ve always sold, and I doubt they ever sweat it. “Domination” is only important in certain contexts.
