It’s not that fat, the new ones are about 4500 lbs. bone stock.

Amazing build! I love all the details and work put in, I'm definitely going to borrow heavily from your build. Thanks for sharing!

I got tired of pulling my skid plate off everytime I changed my oil. So I installed a remote oil filter system.
Now can run full size Ford oil filters.
I now have an analog oil filter gauge, not an idiot light.
And it holds 6.5 quarts of oil in the system.
And for the first time in over a year, I have all my skid plates back on.

Nice rig! Just love a 98. A question, mine already came with locking hubs, not a TRD-so I get to take the long way around to get there, is the electric 4x4 actuator a part of the trd package?
The header install did suck, but after the first crap header-DNA motors- everything was all prepped for the TRD unit and it went easier- on the plus side I did locate the leak in the radiator tank during the install, unfortunately too late for the head gasket but the salvage motor turned out pretty good more power and sounds a lot better than the original motor.

Starting to look more and more like the previous owner buried it in a creek or something still finding lots of sand-even under the console- could explain a lot of the odd issues that I have solved so far
I like the fuse panel, it’s on the list . Looks like the best spot due to that giant charcoal canister.
I just recently replaced my radiator with a Champion, word on the street is their cap is kinda lame, might carry a spare from carquest, or a Stant.
I tested it out on the AlCan towing a trailer- not a high temp test for sure but she ran good, so no complaints so far.
Rocking the ARB up front, like the look, classic.
Not sure if there is much left to do it looks like, you’re doing a great job with it. So enjoy the ride and thanks for the build thread, lots of inspiration there, now just need a bigger wallet.... but that’s always the case.

Thank you, it has been fun and expensive.

As far as the E-Locker, I installed one in an older Hilux but I used a seven way relay and a rocker switch. I wired up the relay so when it actually was engaged it lit up the ANTI-LOCK light on the dash.
Here is a link to retrofitting an E-Locker using factory components. http://www.sonoransteel.com/phong/retrofit_electric_locker.html
    And a premade harness http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/ulti...rness-kit-by-low-range-off-road-tdi-elwh.html
I can't find the link to where I found how I did mine, there was a lot of labor and time involved.

I purchased a 98 TJ years ago that I found out later the previous owner had it flooded as well. Fine sand was everywhere, and it smelled after every rain storm. Sold it and it ended up in Mexico.

I have heard about the Champion radiator caps, I keep meaning to get a new one.

I added a new basket to my bed rack. Added an old lightbar to the rear that I didn't like up front. The plan is to store my spare tires on top.
