    Too many…
They were bolt on but I didn’t want to make holes in the frame so I welded them on

Yup mine has been torn for a long time too. No issues. IIRC you can't buy a replacement boot anyways. Have to buy the entire arm.

I kind of figured I’d have to by at least some kind of assembly. Haven’t looked yet, but I’m sure it’s probably not cheap enough to deal with it

lol according to @Speedytech7 the right way to do this is to remove it if you're going to be adding sound deadener. I agree with him and took his advice, but it's a pain.

Not a fun project in the least. The perfect tool for the job seemed to be my "her first tool kit plastic chisel."

Aka . As far as it coming off by hitting it with a hammer - the only way I can see that happening is if you're outside at night during a record setting cold snap in Maine or some other God forsaken arctic climate.

Some people don't ever get this to work but it's worked for me, you have to go to the grocery store and get a block of dry ice, then set it on an area for a min or two and then use a mallet to crack it off the floor.

You'll thank me when your floor doesn't vibrate and hold water in between the layers rusting away. Haha Still sorry it didn't go so smooth

I should have enough to - I just washed my carpet and am going to dye it and then put all the deadener in - going to check out a few write ups before.

We don't water or rust here, but if I go somewhere that has some, I will be prepared.

The freezing/cold method works if the stuff is old & dry enough. Otherwise if still fairly new a heat gun works better.

I did this to a few cars. On my old Integra I removed it all but for trying to reduce weight. Everything I took out weighed like 30 lbs. Lol

All but once last year while wheeling I ended up in snow, it's sort of a curse. But actually in Northern AZ and of course the MTNs in Flagstaff we get good snow. No WA for me yet

The work continues! Making sure the truck is trip ready, looking to hit Death Valley soon.
Guess after 150k and a lot of dirt miles the transmission support decided to give up, one side was completely detached so I swapped in a new one.

    New carrier bearing
    [IMG]
Carrier bearing was toast as well, should help with any vibrations and keep everything in place off-road.

Picked up some circuit breakers for a few systems. Slowly redoing the wiring on the truck.
Ditched the useless clock that they Toyota decided to place behind the steering wheel.

Mounted an A pillar gauge pod, thinking boost/trans temp and oil temp/pressure?

Feels solid. Feels like the 2nd gen after you install their TRD suspension kit.

I remember a few months back there was some new guy on here who removed all the plastic covers in his interior and claimed it to be a massive weight reduction.
Edit: think fuse box cover and switch blanks
