I do agree with Andrew Lincoln that he just freed up the show to go any sort of direction it wants now but there's a pretty good guess about where he's at.
You could bring it up in the comic thread.

I had always assumed Alpha and Beta but that's thrown off now.

Yea but he had A on the container he was captive in earlier.

edit: Maybe being injured makes him a Beta?:notsure:

edit 2: Ya know, him not dying and going off to do movies w/o really really trying to get back to his family is going to be strange.

    Interesting.
I have no clue. Gonna be kinda odd without ole Rick Grimes. I don't see much happening with his acting career. He'll always be Rick Grimes in anything he does.

Talking dead claims there will be a Rick mini series or short film. So I’ve been going to bat for the show for a long time and I’ve been patient.. but none of this storyline makes sense. I do see and agree with the notion that with Rick gone the show opens up to actually do more things but they could have done a much better job.

I don’t see rick thriving at another place.. I see him killing his way back to Judith. Also, I don’t know any kids her age that can handle the weight or the recoil of a Colt Python

I actually enjoyed Rick's last episode. The flash foward was cool, the survivors are in much different places (mentally) and the communities seem to have thrived. I like that the direction can go anywhere and we're basically done with the original storyline. It also seems like we got confirmation that Judith is in fact Shane's kid, with Rick's dream conversation with Shane. He seems to have always known, subconsciously.

It looks like Rick's story will now be shown in films. Gimple mentioned that the first will be what happened to him after being rescued. I am good with that as the idea is to expand the TWD universe even further.

Also, did anyone watch the previews for the next episodes? Walker evolution! :D That's pretty exciting IMO. Make these walkers scary again.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
I think that's the "Whisperer's" that they're talking about from the comics. I think the group believes they're evolving, but it's just people dressed as walkers mixed in the groups.

you'd think anyone on guard duty could see it moving on the horizon potentially, even if it's not up close and able to be heard.

I have to also agree with a few others’ posts here about Rick, since it was my thought instantly when Gimple said he’s not coming back. He will be obsessed with getting back to his family. I can only guess than a movie about him at the Commonwealth will show him as a prisoner. I know this doesn’t jive with what the commonwealth is about, but it totally make sense for Ricks character.
Also not sure about how I feel about Negans breakdown scene with Maggie. I did like the little hint we were tossed in the preview when the walkers could be heard talking to each other.

I totally thought Negan was faking all that shit and he was gonna crush Maggie's skull.

So, without giving to much away (or you can pm me) those of you that have read the comics, Is this the end of Rick and how does it fit in the story line of the comics?
