I’d do some serious research before dropping 10k plus on a Habitat. If I recall there are quite a few issues with them, the tents in particular... guess it depends on where you reside but the big advantage to this design is a hard roof. The Habitat is no different that a large ground tent or standard RTT... it just costs much more. Do some searches or perhaps @inv3ctiv3 has some input on the habitats. He may have had one or certainly knows some people that do...

This is fair. I got really excited when they said production would increase to 10/week (40/month). But in reality, I have to judge them on the commitment they made when I made the purchase, which was May. I knew what I was signing up for when I paid. Only if they fail to meet their original ship date, do I feel it is fair to complain. I won't complain though, it is not my style. I'll just stew over it and continue to listen to my friends give me crap for paying $6k and waiting 9 months.

Paying 6k and waiting 9 months is the cost of entry to an exclusive club....

Seriously i waited almost 9 months for mine too and i was one of the initial orders. Lol. It’s ok you can complain. Just know it’s worth it.

We are making the extra side door available as an option. It's an extra $350 to add it. Although it won't add extra ventilation. In fact, when it's open you'll actually get less air circulation due to the way the pressure differentials work. The only reason to get the side door would be if you want to get in and out with a ladder on the side rather than through the floor or out the back door.

And since someone is gonna ask... how much to just buy a replacement panel if we have the standard in place already? The idea of a ladder option is kinda cool... does that price include the brackets for the ladder or is it all Al La Carte?

It takes a week to process a batch of extrusion (cutting and hole drilling) then at least a week to get it powder coated, then on to assembly. So even though we can have a flow of ten/week, it takes more than a week for the parts to go through all the processes.

The tent is one piece, so one would need to replace the entire thing. I'm not yet sure what the cost on that will be.

As for the ladder, that's not included with the door. We are using an off-the-shelf collapsible ladder at the moment but we do modify it by adding a hook that works with the extrusion rain gutter.

I really like the Luci lanterns, but I have gone through two in a very short time. I only got a few uses out of them. I feel the reason is that I would store them in a sunny spot thinking that I was keeping the battery topped up. What seemed to happen was that I caused a big memory problem. Now, I only get a hour or so max when they would work through the night when new.

So, I will get one more as punishment, but I will store it out of sunlight and charge it on the days that I intend to used it. It made a great power outage lantern but being prepared for that ruins it, IMHO.

It would be my recommendation to store yours in a case and take it out when you are heading out for a trip?

Scaling too fast is a great way to kill a small business.

They're a year out on orders now, but where will they be in a year from now? Three years from now?

Hey man were you headed Southbound along I5 yesterday around 12-2pm between Redding and Sac? I was northbound headed home and saw a AC with a GFC on the southbound side and had to drool for a split second haha. Truck looks awesome if that was you! First GFC I’ve seen in person even if it was just in passing

We spent an exceptionally wet and windy night in the GFC on the Washington coast last weekend. I believe we got about an inch of rain and the wind was 20ish with gusts toward 30.

We did end up reorienting the truck to be pointed directly in to the wind. After that the tent handled the wind with no problems, there was some flapping before we moved.

We stayed very dry up top, there was condensation on the inside of the tent walls this morning, but that is inevitable in this climate. The window design works quite nicely to allow for some air circulation without letting the rain in.

The bed rug we have downstairs did get pretty damp. I think this mostly occurred while we were in transit. During stops along the way there was a noticeable drip coming off the space frame about 2” from the rear extrusion on both sides. I did not see the drip once the tent was deployed.

I’m keen on figuring out a way to reduce this water intrusion while the tent is not deployed.

Here’s a photo from the morning when hmtgings began to clear up.

You should try combining two German owned manufacturing plants into one new building.... I'm brought in during building design for all their environmental compliance (just started on the project), and i am two years out from closing the first plant.

At least with the new building i get to spec all my new equipment!!!!

The local plant has sooooo much stuff made out of 80/20, like probably high five to six figures if it was new. I am going to enquirer if they are going to sell it off or move all the fixtures.

Yep, that was us. Fiance's Grandparents lost their home in the Redding fire, so we've been visiting quite a bit. With no place to sleep, the GFC has really come in handy. Plus, the amount of questions I get and have answers to is awesome to spread the word.

I'm in the same boat, with production of my camper projected to begin May 2019. I estimate that if they began deliveries about May 2018, they have averaged a little over four units per week. If that rate continues, our campers will begin production around August or September of 2019. More hopefully, if they can average 8.16 units between now and next May, our campers will begin production on schedule.

Aw man I’m really sorry to hear that. It’s insane how many people were effected by it and will continue to be as we enter winter and potential mudslides/floods/etc. If you guys are up again and wanna grab beers or something lemme know! Would love to get a better look at the setup if you’ve got time
