Yo, little poll for the WV boys. Are any of you guys running "premium" gas in your 3rd gen (93)? I know it's been ranted about multiple times throughout the forum but I wanted to hear from you guys as well.

I've been running it in my 2nd gen for about 3 months now..I'm not sure if I can tell a difference it does seem to run a little smoother

Good friend of mine has a 2nd gen and he claims better performance. I came from a wrx that required 93 octane and I know that ecus typically have to be tuned for higher octane fuel. With that being said I've also heard that 3rd gen ecus have the capability to learn to an extent. I just don't want to pump the expensive juice for no reason Haha.

Your WRX required it because of the tune and engine design. I had a ‘15 with the new FA20DIT and it was a ticking time bomb. Thing knocked from day 1.

I would run E0 gas at times and it was only found in 92. Noticed no difference in fuel economy. The tune on our trucks won’t utilize any different than 87.

I don't run anything but regular 87. I do use Lucas injector cleaner every oil change @ 5k miles. Wait til the current tank is about 1/2 or below, add cleaner, drive another day or two, then fill up again and continue as normal.
Does it do anything at all? Hell if I know lol. But 4 cyl, armored, no gearing. I'm happy with 16+mpg

I have a 2nd gen and I will toss a tank of ethanol free 93 in it every now and then. I do notice my mpg increase with it. I usually burn a little less that 3/4 of a tank running between my places and with the 93 I’ll burn about 1/2 a tank

I’ll be ready in a few weeks hopefully. Hoping it gets to Baltimore before the guaranteed date of 12/03. Took two weeks to get it on a boat :annoyed:
