I love seeing everyone’s reactions. Like I’m spending their money on my truck. I love my truck, and love getting info on this forum. If you love entune, good for you. I on the other hand hate it and love getting info from others who may have done the same. If you like listening to the radio, then do it... technology is upon us, that’s why we buy our trucks and trick them out. You want to spend it on off road shit, go for it. I will spend mine on it all. Keep on hatin’ and I’ll keep on laughing and posting it, 4x if it pleases me haha. I’m just as addicted to seeing what others have done with their tacos as some are interested in my upgrades. Have a great weekend.

Not what people say bro, it's how people say it that pisses others off. People can choose to be dicks, or choose not to be dicks. Everyone has that choice. Have fun fixing up your truck.

How much did you get for the stock unit? I'd like something with wireless carplay as well.

with this set up you were able to keep all the steering wheel controls and use the existing antenna and microphone?

Steering wheel controls retained on mine. But had to use microphone provided with the head unit. But not a bad location.32B7C70C-BCC0-4E96-B563-37B11E8B6A98.jpg

Has anyone heard of or used NV Connect? They say they have a module that ties Android Auto and Carplay into the factory head unit. They are out of Korea so everything I have read has been through Google translations which doesn't give me a ton of confidence.

I had the Entune Plus...not the Premium. After fees and shipping I put $270 in my pocket, iirc. Not a lot, but better than a kick in the ass. I would suspect if you have a Premium, the going rate would be fairly substantial. Folks wanting to upgrade — but stay OEM.

The door lock and misc. stuff that’s in your Settings won’t be available, but with a cheap OBD device you really don’t lose anything.

Those cost as much as a 3rd party head unit.

Yeah... But you keep the factory cleanness. Not sure if it's worth it, though.

As long as it requires you to be wired instead of wireless for Android auto, not worth it.

I have one sitting on my shelf. $1000 Canadian takes it plus shipping.

Jokes aside all these people complain about navigation? I never use a car navigation when my phone can hook upto it? I rent many vehicles a month with car play etc. Yes I would like to have car play but looking at the nav my phone does the same on all.

Anyone else have the problem with their head unit rebooting when trying to make or receive a phone call? Doesn't matter if I use the programmed short cut on the head unit to call or initiate a call with the phone. My iPhone is connected to the head unit via bluetooth and reboots, then after the reboot iPhone reconnects and works just fine? This damn unit has done it with 2 different iPhones, different versions of IOS to include the most up to date.
