5100s????

whats the benefit of having 5100s. i see allot of folks talking abt these but at different hights, does that mean they are adjustable to whatever height you want them to be???

im still learning abt all this type of stuff guys so pls be nice lol

They are supposed to give your truck a more comfortable ride in addition to the lift. I'll let you know after mine are installed tomorrow

ETA: If you want your truck lifted you'll also need a solution for your rear as well.

 

lucky man bc you already got them. if you dont mind me asking, where did you buy them from and how much did you pay for all 4?

 

thats why im trying to find out bc i would like to lift my truck 3 inches and put anywhere from 33-35 inch tires on it

 

They were part of the group buy in the ToyTec forum. Check on that sticky. They were back ordered for a couple of weeks, and honestly I don't remember how much I paid for it since I paid for an entire ultimate lift package at once.

 

Well WELCOME TO TW That's the goal of a lot of folks on here, mine included.

 

$282.99 plus tax for all 4 with the discount from DMS (Downsouth Motor Sports...vendor here on TW)...assuming prices haven't gone up in the last 4 months.

You'll also find that you get a different "feel" to the ride at various heights. Can't speak of the 0 or 2.5 settings, but I've run them at both 1.75 and .85 (current setting). So with all things being equal, you'll feel the road more at .85 when you hit bumps but the truck handles better (tighter feel in the corners). At 1.75, the bumps are absorbed even more offering an even smoother ride, but it doesn't feel as tight on the road. At this setting, it feels like it wants to wander a little bit. But between the two settings, I like 1.75 better. I plan to go back to that setting now that my front differential has been replaced (just need to wait until I have more money for another alignment).

+1, but Sonny posted a thread last month saying they had to jack up their prices. Not sure when that's going to happen.

 

Now I need some opinions from the experts here on TW...

I was planning on doing a 3 inch lift kit to my truck by buying the 2.5 inch spacer in the front from pro comp and adding a AAL in the rear but after hearing abt tje billys 5100s I'm thinking of just getting 4 billy 5100s for all around and then adjusting the height from there to my personal preference. My question is, would I still need rear AAL? And which set up is better, pro comp spacers or billy 5100s???

Yes you would still need an AAL. The shocks don't lift the truck in the rear.

The billy's are a much better option than any spacer.
