Guys, remember to change the fuel filter!

I just changed mine, had 90,000 miles on it.

Decided to cut it open after drowning it in water so it would not catch on fire from the grinder.

    FILTER IS BLACK With dirt.
I’m thinking I need to change it every 50,000 miles instead of 100,000 here forwards

    Right?!
It was super nasty! I didn’t think it was the root of too much of the smell (didn’t smell horrible, just musty) but a mixture of that, and the seat covers needing a wash and the truck smells wonderful now

So doing the valve cover gaskets on the drives side the plastic heat shield for the wiring harness is completely gone.

So used heat resistant wire loom tubing and wrapped it with the heat resistant tape made by Tesa, the tape the Germans use for their high heat output engines and then used the Napa wire loom clamps to bolt everything in place.
The TESA tape is hands down the best heat resistant wire loom tape to use.

    I have mods
@austinmtb, here are the pics of the cut top plate for the Artec. Cut this morning and then painted it, still need to put on a coat or 2 of bedliner. Went and found the mounting bolts I needed, M8 stainless flush mount socket head. Then I lined the tray with thin foam that I get with my motorcycle batteries. With that in there, the battery mounted and top screwed on, it's not moving AT ALL. Now I just need my cables and military clamps to arrive so I can get it all finished.

When I worked at FSU they would fill a either a 244 or 330cf for $12 (I can't remember exactly). If I wanted to fill my own 80cf it was $55. Large companies get good discounts due to contracts with Airgas.

When I was swapping in my engine I crushed the plastic cover that wraps around the back of the 3RZ. I have some of that Tesa tape from a harness wrap I did on another car and now you got me thinking I should just use it to wrap my loose wires instead of tracking down another plastic cover.

Nothing much today, finally installed my rear durobumps from @Plastics Guy, painted my drums, & rotated my tires.

That should be the last of what I needed to use the garage for work on the truck. Main thing is after so many months I put my garage back into to order as it usually sits so I can access my machines again.

Just need to get rid of my old wheels now to clear up more space. @Crodell6 :boink: :)

I change mine out like every 2 years, Wix brand. Probably sooner than I need but whatever. I just write the date changed on mine now. I used to write mileage but I don't anymore.

Replaced the gear shift column light which was burnt out for a while. Finally got around to replacing it with a new bulb from AutoZone. Wish they came with just one bulb in the package and I only had to pay half the price. Chose not to slip on the OEM orange condom on the new bulb. Good as new.

How much disassembly was done for this? Is it simply removal of the plastic cover over the shifter, or is there quite a bit more to remove? Mine is out!

Some videos on YouTube will tell you to remove the plastic cover which lays on top in addition to the cover by the cigarette lighter, but you can just take off the single cover on top of the gear shift and wiggle it out, careful to not break any plastic pieces. The replacement bulb number is 2721.
