Here's the sensor. The T4R case I have in the rig now had the smooth gear, so I had to pull the gear out of my old FJ case. Your FJ case will have the gear in it.

The cylindrical casting below the rear output is where the sensor goes. Pull the blockoff plate and make sure you have the gear you need. Also, I hear you can change out the gears for corrected speedo readings.

Good product, axles are amazing. Bought a set a few months back. As reference, 8" housing 68" wide + full float + cut chromo shafts was $1500/ea.

No problem. Find the input wire on your speedo, a few junkyard parts, and wire it up. No need for sensors on the hubs.

    Good info.

Now I've gone from 100% sure what axle I was going to run. Now I have decisions to make. Again.

Sounds about right. Save your money and run junkyard axles that you'll have to build, or spec out a set from a manufacturer and go from there.

I'm ready now. I would've ordered it today if ECGS had gotten back to me.

    Back to the drawing board.

I'd do a 14 bolt or the Toyota 9.5" in a ruff stuff or diamond housing. Simple and plenty of beef. As said the speed sensor is in the tcase for those of us who shift like men, otherwise you can just get a new speed sensor and splice it in, it's 3 wires.

Does the Toyota 9.5" have a bearing on the pinion snout like the Ford 9". I am totally ignorant about those axles.

    A load bolt? I don't think so.

Ford 9s are tough as nails. And a ton of options. A big bearing third with 35 spline shafts would be hard to destroy.
I think Captain Rear Grenadiers biggest issue is the pinion shaft flex when he mashes the skinny pedal in fit of road rage. Throws the contact patch on the tooth closer to the heel and blam.
400ish HP and 35s with a traction bar creates a hell of a lot of shock load

A dual case setup will fix the shock loading. Can't fix driver though as @Arcticelf stated :p

Problem with Ford 9" is now you have to get a custom hub to keep 6x5.5" bolt pattern. With land cruiser setup everything is off the shelf. 14 bolt would be the same way, unless Jimmy gets a semi float 14 bolt. Lmao

That’s what the guy at Currie said...

Well, not the road rage part. The rest though.
