Just make sure your line is parallel to the top of the bed....when I marked mine it was at a very slight angle and I couldn't tell until I went to put the bumper on...now I have to pull it off and retrim the bedside....:anonymous:

I agree with everyone. Flush with bottom of the taillight. It gives more clearance in case you hit your bumper with a lot of upward force.

But I have a tendency to bang around on rocks and fall into deep abyss-like holes.

I’ve already mangled my DS bumper side wing protector thingy. It’s pushed into the bedside and upwards almost into the cut bedside. If it wasn’t cut to bottom of taillight, I would have crumpled the bedside.

Big Tree on one side. Big rock on the other side. Giant hole in the middle. On an upslope. In the snow and ice.

Tree, rock, hole, mountain and snow.

All ganged up on me and beat me that day.

well damn. thats a serious non-trail non-obstacle right there. always wondered how much protection that bar provides. looks like a lot considering what your bedside could have looked like without it.

I searched a bunch in the thread and gave up and figured I would ask. Anyone know how much the standard HC rear bumper weighs? With and without a swingout

Managed to get the front on. After that, I’m doubting my ability to do the rear alone

How’d you do it? Considering ratcheting the sides to the d rings in the bed to get it close.
