finally got an exhaust

Opted for the JBA fully stainless cat back. $300 and a lifetime warranty. The muffler is straight through and the only bends in the system are over the axle. Pretty easy install, the pipes fit real tight so it was hard to ram together under the truck. I used RTV to ensure no leaks. The tip comes out at a 45 degree angle, but doesn't stick out very far.
Sounds mean. Definitely more like a real truck, no V8 tho. No resonance in the cab while cruising but you sure hear the growl when you accelerate. My butt dyno says I gained some torque. All in all, this is an impressive exhaust for the price.

People around here like to judge our mods by if we feel any more power after the mod compared to before. Basically how much force is put on your butt in the seat tells you if you have a lot of power or a little. I can tell it seems more explosive from a stop and it even tries to break the fresh new tires loose flooring it from about 3,500 RPM in first gear. That isn't bad.

Warranty? My truck hasn't had a warranty for years. And if something breaks or wears out, it's time for an upgrade.

 

I also slapped a JBA cat-back on with similar results. 'Twas a good deal, it seems.

 

anyone know how they sound compared to a magnaflow cat back?

 

No idea, but I've heard the magnablow is raspy so that's why I got the JBA. No rasp and it sounds great WOT, but pretty quiet cruising. Should be a little deeper when I get my CAI.

Got the best I could with my isight and mic. The first 2 revs were 2,000 rpm and the last is 3,000. Sounds different because the fan shut off...

were you in nutral? Ive noticed that it sounds different or better when in neutral.
