That's what I would like to do, so I put a request in for the 1.04r file. Just waiting for it.

Man all this talk about 1.04r has me contemplating if I should get it. My rig runs decent with 1.04 87, it just feels heavy at times with my weight I guess. Does 1.04r provide any “giddyup”?

Yes on the giddyup. You'll notice better throttle response and low rpm power.

Can't tell if you are aware by your question, but you need the TSB for 1.04R. Shouldn't go from 1.04 to 1.04R without it.

I was just going to wait until 1.05, but I guess I might as well check out 1.04R in the meantime. I miss the power of 1.04 after tsb update and running stock tune. I need the giddy up.

Yes a long time ago in this thread he had mentioned an intake. He also stated that the major choke point was our exhaust manifold which is a difficult
Issue since we can’t just put headers. It was brought up in discussion for ways to make more power. But I figure since dirtydeeds is making an exhaust, OVTune for the ecu, and maybe an intake it would give us as much power as possible without going to turbos. Keep in mind I love the idea of turbos on this truck. My bank account says dream on broke ass.

Do it. You won’t be disappointed. The giddyup will definitely return with 1.04r. I was super happy to have the tune back after Toyota surprised me with their generous TSB update.

On another note, thank you Mat @OVTune for all the kick ass work that you are doing for us on here that actually appreciate your hard work. Cheers to you!

If you are in the Portland region and your truck is in good shape, you should be able to get invoice for the truck. I did it with my 14 7 months and 8700 miles, small scratch on the bumper. My buddy was doing 2 year leases and making money.
Don't let anyone take you, unless you rolled negative equity from your trade you should be right side up.
Taco's and 4runner's are quite unique in that respect. That's why I have so many mods on my truck. I am confident that I will be able to sell it at the top market when I am ready to sell. I have no plans to sell it though. It's a great truck.

Yep! I am heavy and no complaints: bumper, skids, sliders, winch, and 32’s...pulls like a champ.

The 2GR-FKS doesn't use an exhaust manifold. There is only a single pipe that runs to each head and the exhaust runners are incorporated into each head. It has been speculated that Toyota designed it this way to allow the use of a twin turbo set up. It would be relatively easy to bolt up a turbo to the side of the head. If this will ever happen who knows, it's all speculation at this point.
