    The exhaust from the other vehicles at said stop light is probably much worse than what little second hand smoke might reach inside another vehicle.

    Abilene Tx had a vote on this same issue. Passed unanimously to ban smoking in restaurants etc. Then the smokers got butthurt and tried to bring up a petition to reverse the law after the vote passed. They had write in signatures from Elvis, Lincoln, Kennedy etc...basically waste of time vote still stands as far as I know. BUT I for one was glad they banned smoking in restaurants.

    I dont go up to someone the day after eating a pot of chili and just fart in their face at a table in the restaurant so why should I have to smell some nasty cigarette smoke while Im eating! Sometimes common courtesy is not so common!

    I waited tables in college. Shifts in the smoking section were always coveted. Smokers drank more, had bigger bills, and always tipped better. Plus there were fewer kids in the smoking section, so cleaning up spills, cracker crumb messes and high chairs was less frequent.
